The room continues to elevate, and one of the biggest reasons why is that we understand what the training room is really for:
A dedicated space to practice against live resistance.
It’s not that serious. We don’t play the tough-guy act here at Gem State. We show up, we train hard, we help each other get better, and we come back the next day ready to do it again.
No egos. No proving anything.
Just getting better. Every. Single. Day.

Lucas got to experience a smoker tonight. One minute with each training partner in the room, no rest in between. Smokers have a special way of setting the headspace up to receive affirmations, praise and inspiration.

Belonging amplifies resilience. When a child struggles, then is embraced by a group and publicly affirmed, it satisfies a deep psychological need for competence and belonging (described in Self-Determination Theory). Those experiences are linked with greater intrinsic motivation and persistence.
