Buddy is becoming quite the friendly guy!

He isn’t to the point of being pet by everyone and wanting to be the center of programming fun, but we often find him watching from a far and supervising❤️🐱

Taking advantage of these beautiful fall days!

Cash got a great grooming session at the outdoor arena yesterday and then we worked on some leading skills. He was a wonderful boy and these two made an awesome lesson team🐴

Hoof & Heart Connections is back in session!

The team recently welcomed out two different groups for a morning of equine-assisted learning. Thank you to Aptiv and some local homeschooling families for joining us! It was so good to have these EAL groups again- the first ones since we moved to Deep Roots Community Farm. The participants got to enjoy grooming, leading, helped with chores as we talked about horse nutrition, enjoyed a craft, and some other fun activities. We look forward to having a few more groups out in the next few weeks to finish out the fall!

Hoof & Heart Connections is made possible by Great Rivers United Way and their mental wellbeing grant. Their partnership allows us to make these outings free of charge for the participants, which has opened the door to so many more people getting to experience the barn and connect with the horses. Thank you GRUW for all of your support❤️

Do you know a group that might be interested in a future outing? Send us a message or call 608-518-5356 to start the conversation today. While our calendar may be full this fall, we are already looking ahead to next year🐴

One of the 1,962,537,191 reasons (and counting) we love Deep Roots Community Farm is getting to not only see other horses, but also work with some of them too!

These two handsome boys are Horton (left) and Sailor (right). They are both 31 years old and have called Deep Roots home for many many years. Thank you to their wonderful owners for letting our participants dote on them and practice their leading skills. They were the best boys!❤️🐴
