When you loose, dust it off and try again.
In pottery I've learned to not take it personally when a piece fails. In the beginning it would bum me out. Over the years I just laugh, and grab another ball of clay and move on. Pottery is a lot like life. You just have to roll with the weather that life throws your way. This helps when you remember to take slow deep breaths. Sometimes I tell myself, "Breathe Brynne!" You can get so focused on wielding the clay, that you forget to breathe.
So, are you team Mario or Luigi? Or are you another character?
