Elko County Cowboy Color Chase 5K information email 2026 (FINAL)

***We are looking for ONE businesses or families or clubs or groups or individuals to help throw color at the color stations. We need 4 to 6 color tossers at each of the four color stations. Email us at [email protected] THANK YOU!
*If you DON'T want color tossed at you please run around the color shoot
*Please note that if you registered as a "team" you must have at least 4 people on your team and all team members must register and pay individually. Kids & Teens that are registered under the special youth pricing will not be counted as part of the the 4 team member minimum. (Team registration closes September 2)

Hello COWBOY COLOR CHASE Runners/Walkers
It's almost COLOR time and the annual Elko County Color Chase 5K. We excited to see you all on race morning SATURDAY September 5, 2026
EVENT PARKING: There is plenty of parking along the road near and around Elko Main City Park. You will be able to find parking within a reasonable walking distance. Be courteous as you select your spot.

ON-Line LATE registration is open and will be available until the race start OR RACE-DAY registration will be available at the Elko Main City Park (by the tennis courts) from 6:30-7:15 am on Saturday September 5 ONLY, for an additional $5. (Cash, check, venmo or on-line registration site with CC...You can still register on-line that morning at the link above that will included the added donation. Thank you for helping us raise $ and awareness for Autism!

TIMELINE AND LOCATIONS:
SHIRT & WRISTBAND PICK UP – Saturday, September 5 at the Elko Main City Park, Elko, NV 89801-6:30 am until 7:15 am. This is your first and only opportunity to pick up your shirt and wristband.
***FIRST 100 registered will get a America250 t-shirt to wear at the race or keep for later. (Wear your own white shirt if you want to keep your Ameirca250 shirt for later).
RACE START - Race starts in waives between 7:30-7:45 am at the ELKO Main City Park. Please allow for driving time, bathroom time etc. to insure that you are ready to run between 7:30-7:45 am. We recommend participants that plan to “take their time”, to catch an early waive and stroller pushers to line-up in the back of the waive you would like to participate in.
RACE COURSE – The course is a 3-mile loop around the streets of Elko with 4-color stations along the way. Be sure to give our color station volunteers a smile and a thanks as you pass by. To view the Color Chase map, see linked.
*Note: Start time is 7:30 AM. Pick-up shirt and in-person registration is 6:30-7:15 AM
The course will be marked with orange ROUTE-ARROWS. A water station will be located about midway at a color station.

POST RACE – The Color Chase is a non-timed event. After you cross the Finish Line you will be given a bottle of water and refreshments compliments of the Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital. You will also be given another packet of color to throw with your friends, after your wristband has been given to the race staff.
