The Marauders fielded a great team in 1992. The offensive line garnered more attention than usual by the media. They played the position well, and they were athletic, big, strong, and willing to work hard. This article comes from the Los Angeles Times.

Another blast from the past…

A fitting end to a great season for the Marauders, back in 1992, was a last second bowl victory over a highly rated Glendale College team. The resulting win put AVC at #10 in the final California State rankings.

That 1992 squad had a very good season! In an era when all California community college football teams were lumped into one division, AVC faced a very demanding schedule while posting an 8-2-1 record. Final rankings saw the Marauders at #10 in California and #6 in Southern California.

As a new season approaches, thought I’d share a blast from the past recently discovered while cleaning out the garage. A 1992 Official Marauder Football Yearbook! So many AVC legends can be found on these pages. Players and staff who not only left their mark as Marauders, but who also have made positive impacts on their chosen fields once they finished at AVC. Great memories!

My association with Antelope Valley College Football dates back to the first quarter of 1990. Since then I served as an assistant coach for a total of 28 years. For the past eleven years I have been an administrator of this page. That time has come to an end as I have decided to step away as a page administrartor. Various other sources can be accessed for information regarding AVC Football.

My whole intent of postings has been to promote the program and inform goings on to those interested. It has been an honor! Countless hours have been volunteered on my part to this page. Clearly I am not a professional, but I did my best. This old school guy will step away with no regrets.

Thank you to all those who appreciated what I contributed to this page. I will continue to support the program in different ways now.

Once a Marauder…ALWAYS a Marauder!!!

I’m no longer part of AVC but I have much gratitude for all it has done for me, my wife and our family. I was taken in as an “outsider” back in the Spring of 1990 and quickly felt welcomed. All told I was an assistant coach for 28 years and it’s an opportunity I’m gratefult to have had.

I have so many cherished memories, involving so many of you, that will be treasured forever. Many thanks to you all! I am better because of you.
