Grace is making a big splash at the 2026 National Safe Routes to School Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is bringing the sunshine, full of shenanigans and keeping the joy in full swing. We are incredibly honored to be here sharing how Grace and her Las Cruces Safe Routes to School teammates are working to make Safe Routes a place where Every Body can learn, grow, thrive and lead.

Las Cruces Safe Routes to School is building a brighter future for Las Cruces and the Mesilla Valley. Great to see so many wonderful leaders joining the Walking School Bus.

The Public Lands Palooza, hosted by the Bureau of Land Management New Mexico, was a great place to network, get inspired, and have a little fun. George Pearson of Velo Cruces and Trinity Miller of the BLM enjoyed a slow race. All in good fun.

“It’s easy to be angry,” Janel said. “It’s easy to hate. But he loved. He loved everyone.”

Chris Carnero didn’t think a Thanksgiving basket was complete just because it had everything needed for Thanksgiving dinner. Kids liked mac and cheese. They should have mac and cheese, and Dr Pepper. Chris loved Dr. Pepper, so it seemed entirely...

Here is a story with a happy ending but it could have gone very differently. Please take photos of your cycle and serial number. Lock it up every time. Use a U-Lock and Chain. Learn how to use locks correctly. Store your cycle out of sight. Never leave your cycle unattended for just a minute. Bikes have wheels, it just takes a minute to ride away on one.

U-Locks: Rigid steel shackles leave little or no room inside the lock body, which prevents thieves from inserting leverage tools like jack or pry bars. When fitted tightly against a post, they also stop bolt-cutter jaws from opening wide.

Chain Locks: Thick, hardened manganese or steel links offer great security, but if a chain rests on the ground, a thief can use the pavement as a solid fulcrum to gain extra leverage for bolt cutters.

Deepest Gratitude to the Fe Police Department. Amazing Work.

Hearts of Hope LLC knocked it out of the park today. They hosted Heros, Wheels, and Smiles and there were plenty of gorgeous smiles. They had an awesome car show, and KVLC 101 Gold was there playing the tunes we all love. There were vendors, food trucks, snowcones, face painting, balloon artists, the LCPD was there and the fire department with their big red trucks. Grace got to see her dear friends from Heart of New Mexico Case Management LLC. She played games and won prizes at all of the cool booths. Grace had cold, sweet lemonade at Squeeze and Fizz and met a real cowboy at Buen Probecho. Sophia also had the best acai bowl of her life at Hi Cravings. We sure hope this was the first of many Heros, Wheels and Smiles events. We have a beautiful community. Hearts of Hope LLC, thank you for bringing us all together.

When you're blessed because someone believes in you. Amore Wick had the courage to meet Grace head on. She trained Grace, pushed her, encouraged her, believed in her and taught Grace how to dig deep when she was having trouble believing in herself. Always inspiring to watch these two incredible ladies working together.
