🏒❤️ Girls hockey is continuing to grow with the Maine Gladiators, with expanded opportunities for players at every stage of development!

We’re building a great program for girls in Central Maine. A clear, consistent development pathway designed to give female players more opportunities to learn the game, develop skills and grow alongside other girls.

For the 2026–27 season, our girls programming includes:

🏒 Girls Beginner Hockey — FREE
🏒 6U/8U Girls Supplemental Development - FREE
🏒 10U/12U Girls Tier IV Hockey
🏒 Tier II Girls Hockey

And this season, our youngest girls will have even more opportunities to learn from and connect with female players through volunteer partnerships with Bates College Women’s Hockey, Central Maine Community College Women’s Hockey and the Blue Devils Girls Hockey program, alongside coaches and instructors.

New to youth hockey and wondering what Tier IV actually means? 🏒

In the Gladiators Tier IV program, there are no tryouts — players register to play, then evaluations are held to create balanced teams within each age group.

Teams compete in the MEAHA Tier IV league, with approximately 20 regular-season games played in Maine, plus opportunities for playoffs, tournaments and the Annual Lions Tournament.

It’s competitive hockey with a focus on development and giving players a place to keep growing. 🔴⚫

The Maine Gladiators are proud to be the youth hockey organization serving Lewiston-Auburn, giving local kids a place to learn the game, build confidence and become part of the hockey community.

Our FREE Learn to Play program for ages 4–6 is designed to introduce young players to the fundamentals of hockey in a fun, supportive environment.

🥅 Ever wondered what it’s like to be the one between the pipes? Give goalie a try — for FREE!

Maine youth hockey players are invited to the first-ever Try Goalie for Free Clinics, sponsored by Maine Amateur Hockey Association and hosted by The Mental Goalie School. It’s a fun, low-pressure opportunity for kids to experience the position and see if goalie might be for them!

Quick-change goalie equipment will be available and should fit most players. All ages are welcome; older players should plan to bring their own goalie equipment.

Players will get time in the crease while parents can learn more about goalie equipment, development and how to help their player get started.

The Maine Gladiators are based at Maine’s only dual-rink arena, giving players access to local ice and training resources throughout the season.

For families, it also means a home rink right here in Auburn and a whole lot of Gladiators hockey under one roof. 🔴⚫

The Maine Gladiators Tier IV Preseason Clinic gives players seven weeks on the ice with Gladiators coaches, starting August 17 and running right up to Tier IV Evaluations.

Ready to knock off the summer dust? 🏒

Gladiators Summer Camp hits the ice August 10–13 at Norway Savings Bank Arena, giving eligible registered players two on-ice skill sessions with specialized skills instructors at no additional cost.

For Tier IV players, getting on the ice is easy: register for the 2026–27 season and have your $400 Tier IV deposit paid. Once that's done, your player is automatically registered for Summer Camp, no separate camp registration needed.

Registration is open for the 2026 Boston Bruins Learn to Play program with the Maine Gladiators!

Designed for kids ages 5–9, Learn to Play is a great way for young players with some skating experience to get on the ice, learn the fundamentals of hockey, and see what the game is all about. The four-week program runs Saturday mornings from October 10–31 at Norway Savings Bank Arena. Registration is $225.

Registration closes August 5 at midnight, so don’t wait to grab your player’s spot!
