LAST MINUTE OPENING: one of our boarders is moving out of state! TRUE PASTURE BOARDING opening ! 10 acre pastures with on-site trails on our 143 acres. Outdoor arena, 2 round pens, tack room, trailer parking, monthly group trail rides & potlucks, close to town location. We use fly predators, so the horses stay comfy thru the summer. Ala Carte services available for farrier holds, meds feedings, and winter grain (haystack pellets: seniors herd only ) Relaxed atmosphere with low key trail riders, and also perfect for the retired or semi retired horse too. $260 per month plus you buy the hay. (We do have an excellent hay supplier who will deliver for you, so no need to haul it yourself) Liberty lake, with easy access to Post Falls, Coeur D’Alene and spokane via I-90. PM for details.

BIG THANK YOU! Paddocks are all cleared out before winter, new feed tires in place, composted manure spread on the cattle field, and red shed is moved to create more parking! Chad Scharff , you are so appreciated! If anyone needs skid steer, tractor work, field mowing, trees taken down, or portable welding, Chad is your guy!

EXCITING NEWS! In 8 days, our forest fire fuel reduction project begins! We have partnered with the Department of Natural Resources to do a thinning of overstocked trees, & pruning of the bottom 10’ of understory. This will help reduce fire risk, promote forest health by reducing competition for nutrients and water in drought conditions, and reduce pine beetle and mistletoe infestations. This project is the culmination of 8 months of training, with end result that the ranch has earned the Stewardship Forest designation from DNR, with the recognition that we have a Forest Stewardship Plan in place, have taken coursework in landowner education on Forrest health from WSU, and will be taking steps thru the coming years to continue to manage a happy healthy forest! This first project will occur in the mares’ pasture, and partially into the Springhouse pasture,with other future phases planned for the other pastures as the budget allows.

AND…. won’t the horses love having more space to adventure up into the trees once they are thinned and pruned! Video is a preview of what this type of project typically entails. Enjoy!

NEXT ALL-BARN TRAIL RIDES:

Sat. Nov 7th 3pm at the ranch, potluck at 5pm. Today’s ride was great! And the fire tables were a nice treat to keep the conversations going even when it got a little chilly at the end! Comment below or text me to RSVP for Saltese if you need a spot in a trailer 😉
