Custom built, nature inspired, cedar log playgrounds ideal for Commercial & Residential play.

A playground doesn't start at the playground.

Long before kids ever climb, swing, crawl, or race across a Bears playground, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes.

The logs have to be selected. Materials have to be prepared. Components have to be built. And individual pieces have to come together into something that makes sense as an entire play space.

A finished playground may look simple once it’s standing. Getting it there is anything but.

There's a story in every log.

No two northern white cedar logs are exactly alike. Some have a pronounced curve. Some taper dramatically. Some show knots, grain patterns, or natural checking that make the piece unmistakably its own.

At Bears, those characteristics aren’t something to hide or manufacture away. They’re part of what gives each playground its natural character.

The result is equipment that looks like it belongs outdoors, because it does.

Tomorrow is Halloween. Tonight, the playground is getting one last adventure before the costumes come out. 👻
There is something about the night before Halloween that makes everything feel a little more exciting. A familiar playground can become the setting for one last game, one last climb, or one last imaginary adventure before tomorrow's trick-or-treating begins.
Sometimes the best part of Halloween is the anticipation.

October is muddy-shoes season, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

A little dirt usually means children have been moving beyond the pavement, exploring their surroundings, and spending enough time outside to get their hands, and shoes, a little messy. Outdoor play doesn't always leave kids spotless, but it does leave them with experiences.
Let them get outside while the season still allows it.

Bears builds primarily with whole cedar logs, giving each structure a natural shape and visual character that complements outdoor environments. The result is playground architecture that feels like it belongs in the landscape rather than simply being placed on top of it.

There are only so many afternoons left for running outside without a coat, climbing until the sun goes down, and hearing “five more minutes” at the playground. October is a reminder that outdoor play doesn't have to end just because summer did.
Make the most of the season while it lasts.

A playground’s layout has to account for movement, visibility, transitions between activities, and the way different children will use the space at the same time.

Thoughtful design is what turns a collection of play elements into a playground that actually works as a complete environment. Bears approaches every design with those details in mind.

Years from now, they probably won't remember what they were supposed to be doing on a random October afternoon. They might remember the playground.

The race to see who could reach the top first. The game that made absolutely no sense to the adults. The “one more time” that turned into five more trips down the slide. Outdoor play has a way of creating the ordinary moments that end up becoming the memorable ones.

Build spaces that give kids plenty of moments worth remembering. Discover more at BearsPlaygrounds.com.

Turning your playground into a haunted house? Honestly, we support it.

October is the perfect excuse to let kids get a little more creative with the outdoor spaces they already love. A playground can become a haunted castle, a pirate ship, a mountain fortress, or whatever their imagination decides it is that day.
Before the cold weather sends everyone indoors, make the most of every opportunity to play outside.

Fall brings some of the best conditions for outdoor play, with cooler temperatures and a landscape that makes every familiar play space feel new again. There is still plenty of time to climb, run, explore, and make memories outside.

Don't let the calendar convince you that outdoor play is over.
