What better day to celebrate ‘Christmas in July’ than on a day thats 90+° with a real feel over 100° 😂🎄🎅🏼☃️

It was a fun day at the track and we appreciate all of the “extras” that Little Buckaroos puts on for the drivers and fans! We decked the trailer out for the “best appearing trailer” contest but unfortunately didn’t win.

The girls both did well. Some bad luck for our fellow racers in the r-box class, but we’re glad they’re ok and were able to make it back out for the feature!

Kendall:

☀️ Saturday, 7/18 - Cedar Lake Arena:

Took a trip out west for the Scorching Saturday Series races (two complete shows in one day). Payten ran in both the green plate & the blue plate classes so we ran our tails off. Between doing double duty and being a double show, she turned over 100 laps in less than 5 hours 🥵
We chased and struggled with set-up all day for the track conditions (rubbered up, one lane on the bottom) and the results show it. Nonetheless, its always fun to see our fellow competitors/families/friends from that side of the state and for Payten to get more seat time - on a different track, against different drivers. We’ll take what we learned and hopefully be able to show better results next time!

Green plate:
Show 1 - heat: 2nd -> 1st 🏁
feature: 1st -> 3rd

Show 2- heat: 3rd -> 3rd
feature: 3rd -> 3rd (was running
2nd & attempted an outside pass
for the lead, which didnt work out
but we give her huge props for
giving it her all and trying to make a
move!)

☀️ Sunday, 7/19 - Little Buckaroo:

Both girls back in action at their home track and they got to carry the flag for their feature wins last weekend 🇺🇸🇺🇸

Kendall:
Heat 1: 3rd -> 4th
Heat 2: 2nd -> 4th
Feature: 4th -> 3rd

Payten:
Heat 1: 2nd -> 1st
Heat 2: 4th -> 1st
Feature: 1st -> 1st 🏆🏁🧹

Kendall struggled a bit on the dry track and running over the plates in the corners. She was able to gain a position in the feature, but she’s just happy to race and be with her friends, no matter where she finishes ☺️

Payten had another good day, getting a clean sweep - making this her 8th feature win on the year! All of the kids in this class are showing great improvements every week!

Kendall doubled down on her feature wins this weekend and both girls drove themselves to victory lane today! 🤩🧡🩷

Racing is a roller coaster…some days you’re celebrating in victory lane, and the next you’re loading up wondering what TF just happened - both of which we experienced this weekend. Errors were made on the track Friday by Payten and ultimately caused a driver to lose a heat win that was theirs. Despite what people say or feel, there was no intention of this…just a split second decision in fast racing that wasn’t the right decision. We took responsibility, apologized and used it as a learning lesson.

Keep diggin…onto the next one.

7/4 Battle @ Buckaroo recap:

Both girls drove their hearts out, putting up great battles for feature wins, but ultimately came home with 2nds on the day for both! (Kendall did pick up a heat win!) We couldn’t have asked for more effort or determination, than what they gave! Congrats to the competition on your wins!

A huge thank you goes out to the entire track crew and all of the volunteers who put countless hours into preparing such a great racing surface and making the event everything it was! Thank you for giving these kids a place to do what they love!

It’s unfortunate that some adults seem to have a harder time handling competition than the kids do. Racing is a competitive sport, and when kids are racing for wins (& money), they’re going to race hard. Not every battle deserves complaints, excuses, or someone to blame because their child didn’t end up in Victory Lane. The kids line up to race, not to be handed trophies & they’re learning far more from close competition than they ever would from everyone simply moving over. The example parents set from the sidelines matters just as much as what the kids learn behind the wheel.

As for us, we won’t let negativity or outside noise distract us from why we’re here. We’ll keep our heads down, keep working & keep digging to be better & faster - that’s what will continue to move this team forward. Wins are earned - not given, and we’ll continue putting in the work until it’s our turn again. 💪🏼🏁

As we celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday, we’re reminded that the freedoms we enjoy today didn’t come without sacrifice.

To every service man and woman—past and present—thank you. Your courage, dedication, and selfless sacrifice have given families like ours the opportunity to chase dreams, spend time together, and make memories doing what we love. We will never take that for granted.
