Carter Brady LSW
“I’ve been swimming with HLA for the past four years. Being part of the club has done a lot for me both in and out of the pool. It’s definitely taught me a lot about discipline and helped boost my confidence as an athlete. But honestly, one of the best parts about my time here has been the community it’s helped me make some of my best friends I could have ever asked for. Next, I’ll be continuing my education at Canisius University, where I’ll continue to be swimming and majoring in sports management“

I am so grateful for every connection I have made through this program and all the support I have received not only from coaches, but also my teammates.
After high school I will be attending Iowa Western to study psychology and continue swimming then eventually going to a four-year program to further my education

Max Lutz LNE
Hi my name is Max Lutz from Lincoln Northeast high school, I’ve been on HLA for 3 years. Being apart of HLA has allowed me to make friends from all the Lincoln schools as well as reaching my personal swimming goals in high school. One of my favorite memories was the 4x100 medley relay at Mizzou, where Jonas, Colson, Noah and I got on the HLA record board. Another good memory from Mizzou was playing among us in Noah’s hotel room iykyk. Next fall I will be attending and swimming at Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Meredith Miller LSW
“Hi, I’m Meredith Miller and I’ve been a member of HLA for 12 years. It is the only club team I have ever swam for and I have loved every moment of it. Through HLA, I have met some of my closest friends and made many memories that I will carry with me forever. This team has helped me grow not only as a swimmer, but also as a person. Swimming has taught me resilience, strengthened my work ethic, and pushed me to become the best version of myself both in and out of the pool. I’m especially grateful for all of the coaches who have supported me through the highs and lows of this sport and have always believed in me along the way. Next year, I will be attending the University of Nebraska. I have been accepted into the honors program and will be majoring in biochemistry with plans of attending dental school. Although I’ll be retiring from competitive swimming, I’ll always have a special place in my heart for HLA. And of course, if anyone ever needs a breaststroker for a relay, I’d gladly come back as long as it’s only a 50. “

Jonas Kessler LNE
“Hello, I am Jonas Kessler, and I have been with HLA for 5 years, and have enjoyed every moment here. When I first joined, Coach Sam made me feel welcome immediately, which made it very easy to come to practice everyday. HLA has taught me to keep working and to trust the process within workouts, even when Sam’s workouts seem ridiculous. The friends I have made through HLA are relationships that will last a long time, and I appreciate many of the connections I have made through club. I thank HLA, and especially Coach Sam, for making me the swimmer I became, and a big part of who I am as a human. I have paused my swimming career, but will be pursing my next level of education at the University of Nebraska Lincoln, majoring in Pre-Health.”
