With all of the new interest, I feel like I should reintroduced my lesson horses.

First is Mr. Bentley! Bentley is a 17.1 hand high (69 inches or 5ft 9in tall) draft horse gelding. Bentley is roughly 3/4 Percheron 1/4 Quarter Horse. He is also roughly 17 years old and his color is called Palomino. This big guy is my main lesson mount as he is great with youth and beginning riders, but also big enough for any size adult! He is smooth to ride and is great on trails. This giant is one of the most gentle I have had the pleasure of working with.

My 2nd lesson horse is Valor. Valor is a registered Buckskin Overo APHA (American Paint Horse Association) stallion. He is 5 years old and still learning a lot himself. He has a registered name, Two Eyed Tontos Doc. That is what he goes by in the showing and breeding world, but for lessons and at home he is just Valor. Valor is used for my advanced students. These are students who have lots of confidence in the saddle and have the experience necessary to handle his quick maneuvers. Valor is a sweetheart of a horse, but he is also young and intact, which is why only advanced students are allowed to ride him. He is loved by almost everyone who meets him.

Today, I had 2 students show at the Salt Creek Wranglers show. I am so incredibly proud of these youth riders! I can not wait to see what their future holds in the horse world.

Lessons this coming week will mostly be ground work fundamentals due to the high temps. Cooler days will be regular riding days. Please bring sunscreen, bug spray, and water!

It's official show week! I am taking Bentley to Salt Creek Wranglers on Sunday July 26th to their beat the heat open show. 2-3 of my youth students and my son will be showing. Stop down to say hi and cheer on the kids!

NO lessons today (7/20) it is way too hot and not safe for riders or horses.

Hello all!!! I return home tomorrow! Lessons resume Thursday. After this amazing trip, we have decided that this WILL be an annual trip. Kentucky is absolutely beautiful! And I get to add so many more gorgeous horses to my model horse collection.

I can not wait to be back home and see all of my students!

I have been getting a lot of new interest for lessons lately. Here are some frequently asked questions and answers!

Q: Are you accepting new students?
A: Yes! I have availability for new students.

Q: What is the age limit?
A: My minimum age is 6 years old. I will not be able to allow youth under 6 years of age to ride the horses due to insurance. There is no cap on age though and I welcome adults as well!

Q: What disciplines do you teach?
A: I teach basics in western riding, western pleasure, barrel racing, 4h, arena trail, and trail riding. I do not teach english, jumping, or dressage, however I can recommend some other great trainers for those!

Q: Do I have to have my own horse?
A: No, that is what Bentley and Valor are for! They are great teachers for beginner to advanced riders.

Q: Can I have a lesson today?
A: Unfortunately I do require a 48 hour notice for lessons.

Q: Can I ride every week?
A: Yes! I highly recommend riding at least once a week to see the best improvement.
