Week 1 is in the books — and whether you crushed every session, fought through some tough ones, or just showed up when it would’ve been easier not to… give yourself credit. You’re already proving something important: you can start.
Now we head into Week 2.
This is where the newness starts to fade and real life tries to creep back in — work deadlines, tired legs, that voice saying “maybe just today off.” That’s normal. It happens to every single one of us.
But here’s the one thing that separates people who finish strong from people who fizzle out:
Know your WHY.
Not the surface-level “I want to look better” (though that’s a great bonus).
The deeper one. The one that hits you in the chest when you think about it.
Why do you want to feel strong enough to pick up your kids/grandkids without thinking twice?
Why do you want to walk into a room feeling like you belong there — confident, capable, proud?
Why do you refuse to let another year go by feeling sluggish, frustrated, or held back by your own body?
Why does showing up for yourself matter more than the temporary comfort of hitting snooze?
Take 60 seconds today — seriously, right now if you can — reconnect with your why. Write it down. Say it out loud. Stick it on your mirror, your phone lock screen, your barbell. Make it impossible to forget.
Because when the alarm goes off early, when the WOD looks brutal, when your body begs for a break… your “why” is what whispers (or sometimes screams):
“This is bigger than how I feel right now.”
You’ve got everything you need here at CrossFit Citadel — the coaches, the program, the equipment, your good friends to cheer, push, and pull you through.
But the fire? That comes from you.
Let’s protect that fire this week.
Find your why, hold it tight and then come get after it together.

🚨 EARLY MORNING CLASS CANCELLATIONS – MONDAY, JANUARY 26 🚨
Citadels athletes,
The ice storm continues to make roads hazardous across East Texas. With lingering slick conditions, black ice risks overnight, and very cold temps expected into tomorrow morning, we're cancelling the following classes for safety:
5:00 AM
6:00 AM
8:30 AM
12:15 PM
Your safety comes first—no workout is worth risking dangerous travel on icy roads.
We'll monitor conditions closely and post updates about the rest of Monday's schedule (including any potential afternoon/evening classes) as soon as we have a clearer picture. In the meantime, stay warm, check on neighbors, and take it easy if you're dealing with power issues or slick spots around town.

ETX Fittest 2026 is May 9th but before we can the fittest of East Texas we need to see who qualifies.
Online Qualifier is now ready! Sign up today and make sure you sign up for the Crossfit Open as well. We use the Crossfit Open site to verify everyone's scores.
Please read all the rules on the online qualifier when you register.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
You must do all 3 Workouts as either Rx or Scaled to qualify for ETX Fittest. We understand you do not have to do that on the Open site but you do for our competition. It is for fair and accurate scoring.
To clarify, all 3 wods have to be done as all 3 Rx or all 3 Scaled for your scores to count in the ETX Fittest Qualifier.
In addition scores must be inputted into CrossFit Open site on the Monday (by 7pm) following the Thursday announcement.
ETX Fittest site is the Tuesday (by 7pm) following the Thursday announcement.
