The Diva's sewing group, part of the Village Quilters, is making a name for itself on the national stage with its award-winning quilt collection, Vintage Divas.
The journey began in August 2025 when the group accepted a creative challenge inspired by the artwork of artist Chez Simon Tresors. What started as a collaborative project quickly turned into an extraordinary achievement. After entering the American Quilters' Society (AQS) Challenge in April 2026, the group went on to capture first place in the AQS Ultimate Guild Challenge in August 2026!
But the excitement doesn't stop there! The Vintage Divas collection continues to receive national recognition and will be featured in a traveling exhibition at upcoming AQS shows, including Daytona Beach, Paducah, Waco, and a New England location yet to be announced.
The collection has also been selected for exhibition at the prestigious National Quilt Museum from June through November 2028.
Adding to these remarkable accomplishments, the group is featured on the cover of the November issue of AQS Magazine, bringing even more attention to the incredible creativity and talent found right here in Tellico Village.
