Meet Margie — a powerhouse of resilience and community! 💪✨
Margie started her fitness journey in July 2020, during a year full of surprises and challenges. She recalls those early days of pandemic workouts, Zoom calls in pajamas, and a gym community that somehow turned chaos into connection. 🧘♀️💕
Here’s what Margie shared about her experience:
“I joined the gym in July 2020. Yes, that 2020. The year we all learned to bake bread we didn’t need, hoard toilet paper like it was currency, and work out in our pajamas via Zoom while pretending the cat crawling across the screen wasn’t distracting.
The coaches didn’t just hang in there—they reached through the screens, the uncertainty, the isolation, and somehow managed to build a community out of chaos. We squatted, pressed, and lunged our way through a pandemic, and it kept us sane. Mostly.
Then in June 2023, life tossed another curveball: breast cancer. I barely had time to Google “what now?” before I was in surgery for a double mastectomy, followed by reconstruction a couple of months later. I was scared, stunned, and trying to remember how to breathe.
But wouldn’t you know it? That same gym community—the one that cheered me through deadlifts and dodgy internet connections—wrapped around me like a weighted blanket of love and muscle.
When I was finally cleared to exercise again, I showed up. Not because I was brave, but because I knew they’d be there. The coaches, the friends, the laughter, the quiet nods that said, we’ve got you.
And they did.
Forever grateful.”

Stuck at home but want to get a workout in?!
Here are some exercises you can do with just one weight!
1. Single leg rdl to single arm row to single leg calf raise to curl to reverse lunge to overhead press 6-8 on one side then switch. Back and forth for 10 minutes
2. Single arm floor press. I had a light weight so i did 30 seconds. Paired with 30 seconds of squats
3. Squats: bodyweight, add weight or squat jumps!
4. Hip bridges. You can add a band or db for resistance. I did 30 seconds alternating with 30 seconds of skull crushers
5. Skull crushers. Hold one or two light weights bending at the elbow

Today we celebrate 1 year of being in our beautiful new space💚
It’s crazy looking back at these before pictures and remembering our first day open, working out on concrete with dust EVERYWHERE.
