You’re basically with your teammates 24/7. Coaches matter, school kind of matters but if you don’t fit with the girls, you’re gonna hate your life, and you’re gonna hate volleyball.

Watch the full convo if you’re in recruiting and nobody’s telling you this part.

Molle and Bree show what happens when you do not get the clean, straight line you pictured. Their path has included surgeries, sitting, and hard coaching decisions, but they stayed, asked for honest feedback, and kept doing the work. The big takeaway is simple: pick an environment where you are coached as a person, stay accountable for your effort in the gym and on the court, and be willing to fight for your spot without bailing the second it gets uncomfortable.

Team placement and level do not decide who goes pro, the athlete’s own belief and refusal to quit do.

Check the full conversation to hear the full breakdown of teams, levels, and how that mindset was built.

☀️⚡️ SUMMER IS WHEN ATHLETES GET LEFT BEHIND. ⚡️☀️

Most athletes think summer is the offseason.

It's not.

Summer is where the biggest gains—and the biggest losses—happen.

📉 Miss your speed work for more than a week and your speed starts to decline. That's called the residual effect.

Meanwhile, the athletes who keep training are stacking speed, power, and athleticism while everyone else is sleeping in.

The result?

➡️ August becomes the gap.
➡️ September becomes catch-up season.
➡️ The athletes who trained all summer show up faster, more explosive, and more confident.

At OAK Performance, we don't guess.

We measure speed.
We track progress.
We build athletes with a plan.

And the data is clear:

📈 The average athlete training in a USR Speed Lab gains +0.92 MPH in 90 days.

That might not sound like much...

Until you realize that 1 MPH can be the difference between:
🏈 making the tackle or missing it
⚾ beating the throw
🥍 winning the race to the ball
🏐 getting there first

Summer isn't the time to take your foot off the gas.

It's the biggest opportunity of the year.

🔥 Train with purpose.
🔥 Show up faster.
🔥 Separate yourself.

Some athletes go through freshman and sophomore year with basically no coaching in their prime. Then a setter coach shows up, actually pours into them, and suddenly D1 and pro are on the table. One coach can be the difference between staying average and playing at a higher level.

Watch the full episode to see how a setter coach can flip an athlete’s path from no coaching to D1 and pro.
