We couldn’t do it without Coach Torres, Coach Damron, and Coach Miller!
Thank y’all for all you do in helping our kiddos be in the best possible position, building relationships and killing it in the classroom!
Thank you to the assistant coaches!
Head coaches may get a lot of the attention, but behind every successful program are assistant coaches pouring into kids every single day.
They coach. They teach. They encourage. They challenge. They build relationships. They do countless things behind the scenes that most people will never see.
As Coach Jim Garfield said:
“Your impact may not always show up on the scoreboard, but it shows up in every athlete you encourage, every lesson you teach, and every life you help shape. Assistant coaches are not assistants to the mission—they are essential to it.”
To all the assistant coaches across Texas putting in the hours without needing the spotlight — THANK YOU.
Your impact is bigger than wins and losses. ❤️🏈

Team Effort! 💪🏽💛🖤
Westerner Nation, we have something BIG to celebrate!
We are so incredibly proud to share that Lubbock High School has earned an A rating for the 2025–2026 school year!! This makes us a BACK-TO-BACK A CAMPUS! 🖤💛
An accomplishment of this magnitude does not happen because of one person, one program, or one moment. It only happens when an entire community believes in its students and works together on their behalf.
To our Westerner Students:
This A represents your hard work, perseverance, growth, and willingness to keep pushing forward. You are the reason we do what we do, and we could not be more proud of you.
To our Westerner Teachers and Staff:
Thank you for showing up every day, setting high expectations, building relationships, providing support, and refusing to give up on our students. The work you do inside and outside of the classroom matters, and this achievement is a reflection of your continued commitment to our Westerners.
To our Westerner Families:
Thank you for trusting us with your students, partnering with us, supporting your Westerner at home, attending every event, asking all the questions, celebrating our successes, and walking alongside us throughout the year.
And to our community partners, district leaders, alumni, volunteers, and everyone who continues to invest in Lubbock High School:
Thank you. Your encouragement, resources, time, and belief in our campus continues to help make opportunities possible for our Westerners.
We will celebrate this A with tremendous pride, but even more importantly, with tremendous gratitude.
This A rating represents countless hours of teaching, learning, tutoring, planning, encouraging, mentoring, practicing, studying, problem-solving, and believing. It represents A community that continues to come together for kids.
We are proud of what we have accomplished, grateful for everyone who helped us get here, and excited about where we are headed next.
Two years. Two A’s. One Westerner Nation. 🖤💛
Thank you for being part of the legacy of Lubbock High School and the school of W.W.A.M! Where Westerners Achieve MORE!
