Tell me this isn't the most adorable thing ever... 🥺✨
..right up until you realize they are drilling knife-defense counters with terrifying precision. 😅
🔪 No big deal, just your average Tuesday afternoon at Wind in the Pines Kung Fu.
While other kids are mastering video games, these two ( ages 6 and 8 ) are mastering spatial awareness, reflexes, and tactical disarms.

🥋 WIND IN THE PINES KUNG FU: Youth Judo & Grappling 🥋
Looking for an activity that builds physical strength, sharpens focus, and teaches real-world resilience for your kids? Maybe our traditional self defense styles like Praying Mantis Kung Fu isn't their forte—and that is exactly why we also focus on the art of grappling, throwing, and groundfighting!
We pride ourselves on being a complete martial arts school. There is no environment—whether standing, in the clinch, or on the ground—that we don't train in.
Give your child the ultimate self-defense toolkit with our expanded youth schedule:
Tuesdays (7:00 PM – 8:00 PM): Youth Judo (Focusing on balance, leverage, and powerful throws)
Thursdays (6:00 PM – 7:00 PM): Youth Groundfighting, Grappling, and Throwing
The Best Part? Parents Don't Just Sit on the Sidelines! 👋📱
We know you're busy, and we know how boring it is to sit on a bench staring at your phone for an hour. That’s why we run our Adult Kung Fu class at the exact same time as our Tuesday Judo class! And we run our Thursday Adult Kickboxing class at the same time we teach Youth Grappling and Groundfighting.
While the kids are on the mat learning how to handle themselves in any environment, you’ll be getting an incredible workout, relieving stress, and mastering your own skills.
✨Whether your child is mastering a throw on Tuesday or working a submission defense on Thursday, they are developing the universal benefits of martial arts:
Unstoppable Confidence to tackle life's challenges.
Laser Focus & Discipline that translates directly to school.
Peak Physical Fitness, agility, and total-body strength.
A Supportive Community built on mutual respect.
Make martial arts a family tradition without the scheduling headache. One trip to the studio, two incredible classes.
📲 Spaces are limited! DM us today to reserve a mat spot for your child!

"I just don't have the time."
We say it all the time. Between work, family, and the endless to-do list, it feels completely true. But when we say we don't have time to take care of our bodies and minds, what are we actually trading away?
Not having time is rarely about the clock. It’s a trade-off between the immediate right now and the eventual.
When we constantly put off our health because today is too busy, we pay a hidden tax:
On your mental health: "No time" usually means your brain is stuck in overdrive. Without a deliberate break to clear your head and focus your mind, stress accumulates. You aren't saving time; you're just burning out faster.
On your physical health: Your body doesn't care about a busy schedule. Neglecting movement, flexibility, and core strength today just means trading your future mobility for a few extra minutes at a desk.
Training Kung Fu isn't about adding another stressful chore to your calendar. It’s about creating a boundary. It’s an hour where the phone is put away, the distractions stop, and you invest in your own longevity, focus, and resilience.
You will never just "find" the time. You have to decide that the eventual you is worth making time for today.
Doors are open at Wind in the Pines Kung Fu. Come try a class and reclaim an hour for yourself.

🥋 PARENTS: Stop scrolling your phone and start training! 🥋
We are always striving to make your experience at Wind in the Pines Kung Fu even better.
We love hearing how much parents enjoy our overlapping schedule—dropping the kids off in the Sanctum Studio for youth Kung Fu while you hit the Forge Studio for adult cardio kickboxing. It’s the ultimate fitness win-win for the whole family.
Now, we’re taking it even further... 💥
Starting this Tuesday, our schedule is changing to give you the ultimate back-to-back training experience:
Block 1: Youth Kung Fu ➕ Adult Cardio Kickboxing
Block 2 (NEW!): Youth Judo ➕ Adult Kung Fu
There is officially zero reason to sit in the lobby on your phone when you could be on the mat crushing your own goals alongside your kids!
🌿 Looking for something a little different?
We are also gauging interest in adding a Tai Chi class right after our Wednesday cardio kickboxing session and a Women's Only Self Defense session! If you’d love to see Tai Chi or Women's Only Self Defense added to the midweek lineup, drop us a message and let us know!
Check out the brand-new schedule below and plan your week. See you on the mat! 👇

Saturday morning: The ultimate "Choose Your Own Adventure" game. 🥊
Do you:
A) Face-plant into the Golden Corral breakfast buffet (no judgment)?
B) Park it on the couch for a Looney Tunes marathon?
C) Become a better version of yourself?
Look, we know the buffet is tempting, but your inner champion is currently texting you from 208 E Lufkin Ave.
Skip the pancakes and the screen time—it's time to put those workout clothes to good use. Sifu Brad and Instructor Willie will see you at Wind in the Pines Kung Fu at 9:00 AM Saturday for our cardio kickboxing class.
Let's start the weekend by hitting different—literally!
