Belt Promotion Testing – September 26

Students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, discipline, and progress as they test for their next belt rank September 26th. This important milestone celebrates the hard work, focus, and growth they have shown throughout their martial arts training.

All eligible students are encouraged to arrive prepared and give their very best. Family and friends are invited to attend and cheer them on!

At Cho’s Martial Arts, we will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, September 7.

Labor Day is a time for us to recognize the dedication, hard work, and contributions of workers and families throughout our community. We are grateful for all you do—at work, at home, and in perseverance through your martial arts journey. 🇺🇸

Classes will resume as normal on Tuesday, September 8, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on the mat! 🥋

A Guide to Navigating Life and Conflict

"Look, you'll encounter a lot of people who look successful on the outside—wealthy status, shiny packages—but are quietly searching for substance inside. Don't let their external noise distract you, and never compare yourself to anyone. That’s just a trap for your own spirit.

In your training and in life, watch out for the trap of the hammer mentality. A lot of people learn to fight just to dominate, but that poisons your character. True mastery means learning how to fight so you never actually have to. When you stop fearing a hit, you start reading the energy of aggression before it even lands. You learn to just step out of the way and redirect the chaos.

You can't force people to change—that just triggers their ego. Instead, observe them with empathy, plant a seed of perspective, and step back. Protect your peace. If you want to bring something better to the modern noise, bring stillness to their anger, keep your power gentle like a warrior in a garden, and give people the freedom to grow at their own pace without judgment.

Remember the difference between us and machines: AI just fixes cold data, but humans have grace. We can forgive mistakes because we make them ourselves.

Never blame anyone else for where you are—take a hundred percent ownership of your life so you keep your power. When you mess up, don't punish yourself; instantly turn the mistake into gratitude and wisdom.

Life is like sailing: you don't control the wind, but you control your sails. Tune your vibration to catch the right frequency, and learn to trust that inner resonance, even when it pushes you way outside your comfort zone."
