The rare albino buffalo — nicknamed “Donald Trump” because of its blond tuft of hair — was reportedly just hours away from being sacrificed for Eid al-Adha before authorities stepped in.

The nearly 1,500-pound animal had already been sold for ritual slaughter, but viral videos quickly turned it into a nationwide attraction.

Huge crowds began gathering at the farm to see the buffalo in person, prompting officials to intervene over growing security and safety concerns.

Instead of being sacrificed, the famous buffalo will now be relocated to the national zoo in Dhaka.

The actions of swimmers who crowded into a pond at Hampstead Heath — home to newly hatched cygnets — have been described as “utterly appalling” by local officials.

Swans and their 12-day-old cygnets were reportedly disturbed by large groups of revellers splashing through the water in the north London park on Monday as temperatures soared to a record 35°C. In one video, a swan could be seen nudging an unhatched egg with its beak after it reportedly fell into the water during the chaos.

Alderman Gregory Jones warned that entering the heath’s non-lifeguarded ponds not only puts people in danger, but also causes serious disruption to wildlife habitats.

Videos shared on social media over the bank holiday weekend showed large groups of people paddling and swimming dangerously close to swans and their young cygnets, despite clear “No Swimming” signs around the area.

A wildlife campaigner known online as “Swans of Hampstead Heath” said the protected ponds are increasingly being treated like beach destinations, creating stress for nesting birds and damaging the fragile ecosystem.

The group explained that the ponds are home not only to swans and their newly hatched cygnets, but also ducklings and other young birds that rely on the shallow waters for food and shelter. They warned that forcing the birds into smaller sections of the pond makes it much harder for them to safely feed and survive.

Officials also reminded the public that swimming is only permitted in the designated Mixed, Ladies’, and Men’s ponds for safety reasons, adding that police may issue fines or make arrests if people continue violating the rules.

A woman fired by Ball State University over a Facebook post criticizing conservative activist Charlie Kirk after his death will receive $225,000 as part of a legal settlement, according to her attorneys.

The American Civil Liberties Union announced the settlement in a federal lawsuit filed last year on behalf of Suzanne Swierc against university president Geoffrey Mearns.

Swierc previously worked as the director of health promotion and advocacy at the university’s campus in Muncie before being fired last September. According to the university, her private Facebook post about Kirk caused “significant disruption” on campus and was the sole reason for her termination.

The ACLU argued that Swierc’s firing violated her constitutional free speech rights because she made the comments as a private citizen on a matter of public concern.

In a statement, university president Geoffrey Mearns defended the decision, saying backlash surrounding the post threatened the school’s reputation, student enrollment, and fundraising efforts. He also stated that settling the lawsuit was less costly than continuing a legal battle.
