There has been progress in Frenkie de Jong’s recovery. The midfielder has been training individually at the training ground in recent weeks.

Barcelona are understandably being cautious with the goalkeeper after his recent knee discomfort. There is no need to take unnecessary risks with a demanding run of fixtures coming up.

Hansi Flick’s priority is to have Joan at 100% when BarΓ§a face a huge sequence that includes Galatasaray, Real Betis, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
