Taking it back to one of our favorite days of the summer: Division Wars! 🏆🔥

All of our divisions went head-to-head from sunup to sundown in the ultimate battle for Cedar Lake Camp glory. The energy was electric, the spirit was unmatched, and every single point was fought for until the final whistle.

Nothing beats the memories made but when the dust finally settled, only one division could take the crown...
The winner of Division Wars 2026 was... Esther! 👑⚡️

We’re excited to introduce Matt Montello as one of Cedar Lake Camp’s Assistant Directors for Summer 2027! Matt will be overseeing our Joseph and Reuben divisions and joining our summer leadership team.

This summer will mark Matt’s 5th summer at NJY Camps, where he has previously served as both a Senior Counselor and Division Head. His experience working directly with our campers and staff, along with his passion for building strong and inclusive communities, makes him a great addition to our CLC leadership team.

Matt is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Counseling Psychology and plans to continue his education by earning his Master’s degree at Montclair State University, with the goal of becoming a licensed therapist and eventually opening his own private practice.

During the year, Matt also works at the JCC of Greater MetroWest, where he leads a men’s support group for adults with special needs. He is passionate about creating environments where everyone feels supported, valued, and connected.

Matt is excited to return to Cedar Lake in this new role and looks forward to helping our campers grow, build confidence, form meaningful connections, and, of course, have an incredible summer!

Please join us in congratulating Matt and welcoming him back to his Home Away from Home!
