A great place to learn to ride starts with the right space. 🚲💚

Our St. Martin’s Lutheran School location gives new riders plenty of room to practice, build confidence, and work through the tricky parts of learning to ride, all with the encouragement and support of our PPK coaches.

Our next Learn to Ride class at St. Martin’s starts October 13, instructed by Coach Rachel and Coach Caitlin!

There’s a lot more to being a PPK coach than teaching kids to ride a bike. It’s about patience, energy, curiosity, flexibility, teamwork, relentless optimism, and most importantly, believing in and caring about each and every one of our riders.

There’s a moment in every kid’s bike journey when it just clicks.
They wobble.
They try again.
They get frustrated.
They keep going.
And then suddenly, they’re riding.
It’s one of those little childhood moments that feels a lot bigger than a bike ride, because they’re not just learning how to ride. They’re learning that they can try something hard, stick with it, and figure it out.
That’s what makes teaching kids to ride so special. 💚

Yesterday was a BIG day for PedalPower Kids! 🚲💚

We spent the day at Eastport on the Move with Eastport Elementary School and the DC Family Bike Fest , and we had such an amazing time at both!

From getting kids moving in Eastport to celebrating bikes and community in DC, we loved being part of two events that brought families together and got kids excited about being active on two wheels. đź’™

A huge thank you to everyone who invited us to be part of their events, we had so much fun!

Paying tribute to the incomparable Dolly Parton today, a true icon of grit, generosity, and heart. 

“I never tried quitting, and I never quit trying.”

Dolly spent her life showing the world what it means to keep pushing forward—not just in her music, but in her fierce dedication to uplifting children, inspiring literacy, and spreading pure kindness. That spirit of never quitting, of trying again even when things get tough, is a lesson we hold close every single day. 

Rest in peace, Dolly. Thank you for leaving the world a whole lot brighter than you found it. ❤️✨

All the way to the Bay!!!! 🌊 Our Advanced Bike Adventure Campers rode to Sandy Point State Park today, utilizing the completed Broadneck Trail (& the B&A Trail)- it couldn’t have been a prettier day, and the new trail near the Park is lovely- much of it well-shaded, quiet and peaceful. We’d recommend parking at the Broadneck Library for a nice fun family round trip ride!
