Going through photos from my Fall Classic win this weekend, I found myself feeling completely overwhelmed with gratitude. Seeing photos with so many of the people who have supported me and helped me get to this point reminded me just how lucky I am. Racing may look like an individual sport from the outside, but none of this happens alone. First and foremost, I want to thank my parents. I’m not blind to the fact that I have the most amazing parents, who have always believed in me and given me every tool possible to chase my dreams and be successful in racing. My dad has given me so much of the knowledge that has made me the driver and person I am today. He has put more blood, sweat, tears, time, and effort into my racing program than I could ever put into words, and I truly would not be where I am without him. I’m so proud to call him my driver coach, crew chief, spotter, best friend, and most importantly, my dad.
And none of that takes away from the incredibly important role my mom plays in my success. She has never doubted me and has always been my #1 fan. When I’m lacking confidence, she’s the first person to remind me who I am and what I’m capable of. She also takes care of a million little things that most people never see. Making sure I have the food I like on race day, cleaning my gear, making sure I have what I need, and creating an environment where I can focus on doing my job. I appreciate those things more than she probably knows.
Dave Boutell, thank you for not only being the best tire guy in the whole world, but also for being a shoulder to lean on and basically my second dad at the racetrack. I never thought I would meet someone I could think of as fondly as my own dad, and then there was Dave. I’m beyond grateful to have you in my corner.
And Haeden, who was such a huge part of my season. He made it to every race but one despite living on the other side of the state and having a racing career of his own to focus on. Thank you for always showing up, supporting me, calming me down when I need it, and celebrating my accomplishments with me, which I know can be hard when you’re a competitive race car driver yourself. 😅❤️
