Loyalhanna Grotto

Caving in West Central Pennsylvania In many parts of the country, these members have formed local grottos or chapters and regional organizations.

These groups sponsor trips, offer training, teach and practice cave conservation, and provide a framework for studying caves. Most grottos will welcome new members who are interested in caves and committed to cave conservation. Loyalhanna Grotto Inc. of the NSS is based in Western PA and meets the second Friday of every month at the Public Library in Monroeville, PA.

I would like to thank everyone who helped make it another enjoyable OTR for the Loyalhanna Grotto. I would especially like to call out Valerie Enderlein Corbin for her work on the bar, decorations, and her enthusiasm. Harland Corbin for his work on the b**r and the Rocky Horror night. Carl Pierce for his work on the electronics. Everyone that help in the er****on, re-er****on, and tear-down of the Pumpkin. Those who saved our stuff from the rain (the Dome, WOTR, and Victoria Cicchinelli) And everyone who worked at DeCon. I am sure there are countless others I am leaving out but thank you all.

DEMOLITION OF HISTORIC STRUCTURES IN NEW RIVER GORGE NATIONAL PARK TO BEGIN IN NOVEMBER

The National Park Service plans to begin demolishing several historic structures in the Thurmond and Prince areas of New River Gorge National Park and Preserve in November 2026 as part of a federally funded infrastructure project.

The structures currently identified for demolition are:

* Charles Ashley Outbuilding
* Charles Ashley Garage
* May Bagoski House
* Harold Smith House
* Sidney Allen Wood House
* Erskine Pugh Rental House
* James Humphrey Sr. House
* McClung Garage
* McClung/Meadows House
* Prince Brothers General Store
* Camp Brookside Pool Chemical Building
* Wadell Young House

The agency said some buildings (except for the ones listed above) could still be preserved if viable proposals are received before demolition begins.
