Mon River Trails Conservancy Century: Perfect day! Accompanied Julia Miller (Positive Spin volunteer) from Collins Ferry Connector Shelter to her ending point at Catawba. We saw Positive Spin poster child Shahab along the way. Julie rode her vintage Peugeot, and began the ride with her daughter, Lyra, on a 10 mile segment in her chariot. Incredibly, Julia had a southern tailwind coming back from Point Marion. The wind went away when I rode back!

We have two Spin volunteers riding in the MRTCentury fundraising for our Rail Trails! Julia Miller rides this Saturday with her little sidekick Lyra tagging along for the first 10 of 105 miles. We’d love your support if you’re able!

MRTCentury Cyclist, Julia Miller is planning to take the 105-mile challenge this SATURDAY. She teaches Sociology at Fairmont State University. She says "I’m a connoisseur of bikes found on the side of the road who is now spoiled by being surrounded by cool bikes as a Positive Spin volunteer. Some of my fondest memories are on the rail-trails with my grandparents where I grew up, and I’m supporting our trails to ensure families have a place to get out to bike together." When Amanda brought in her son Samuel’s bike which he rides with the South Middle School bike club, she thought he might need a full replacement, a major concern for any family on a budget. Upon taking a closer look, we realized his current bike just needed some quality mechanical care and a few adjustments to fit his growing body. We completed the repairs free of charge, getting Samuel back on the trail with a bike that safely fits him and plenty of room left to grow.

Sasha can stop again! We had to order pads for the front, so we'll complete the project next week. Patrons Ben and Alex discuss with volunteer Nick about utilizing tandems as single user cargo bikes 😎.

Morgantown Trail Hawks MTB Team - WVICL Coach and Positive Spin volunteer Scott Soderholm received a Maisoneuve fracture while on a training ride with the kids. While he heals he is borrowing a hand trike from Positive Spin which was found in a dumpster at a rehabilitation facility. He already has gone on a 10 mile ride on another training ride with the kids in a high gear! The issue with the trike was that the Sachs Super 7 hub and shifter were in bad condition. Fortunately, we had a cruiser in the shop with a Sachs Spectro S7 system (same family), which we swapped out the other day. There was a little challenge of finding a place for the Grip shifter, but we found a solution!

Poster Child Shahab purchased this bike from us last year, and enjoyed biking so much he soon sold his car. He utilized his bike so much in one year that we had to replace most of the bike's drivetrain (chain, cassette, chainrings, and bottom bracket). This is the type of success story we love at Positive Spin!
