RachelGierich reached her 400+ training session milestone! Big accomplishments of this past year include hitting new strength PRs, being more intentional pushing herself with cardio classes, and learning to be ok with the fact her husband also trains here now 😂.
Joking aside, the reason that is a joke is because like many others this has become Rachel’s home away from home. The place where she gets one hour per day to focus on her, to laugh, to interact with other adults, to not be a full time uber driver for her kids..
You can always count on her pushing herself, being here 3x/week or more, and making others around her better!

Cody Balentine also hit 400+! Some of her notable accomplishments are that she signed up for almost every class, she did some of the pillar prep a couple times, and she likes running now?
We give her sarcasm because she’s even better at giving it to us, which at BR is one of the higher forms of flattery 😂.
In all reality she’s doing amazing. Often 5+ times per week balancing 4x/week strength and multiple cardio’s. The days she can’t get in she gets workouts done at home. Her work schedule means she’s out the gym at 6 clocking into work at 6:30, but despite her packed schedule doesn’t let that stop her!
Shes strong, a friend to all, and one of our most consistent athletes we have!

Kelly Anne with 700+ training sessions! I’ll never forget our first session. We sat out front of our old building talking about her goals and she noted being terrified to do any sort of lunges or split squats worrying she couldn’t get back up.
Flash forward to last week and I saw her doing the hardest version possible of split squats with her knee getting all the way to the floor! She still trips from time to time, but that’s no longer due to a lack of strength l😂.
One thing I always appreciate about Kelly is her kindness, specifically towards new members. She greets everyone when she gets here and goes out of her way to help new athletes feel at home.
She’s come a long ways in her journey and I have a feeling the next 100 are going to be her best yet!!

Last week during the prone snow angels while I was getting humbled by the 2.5’s thought, whatever happened to the 1.25lb plates we used to have? Must have lost them. Not a big deal just weird.
Today I came in and remembered one of our athletes Abbott had decided they needed to be prettier and she apparently followed through on that!
The best part about this is because these small plates are most often utilized whenever two people are lifting the same weight. One of them inevitably throws these on just so they can say they did more than the other. It’s not a huge flex more like a kindhearted middle finger between competitors 😂.
The fact that these are now bedazzled makes that competitive energy all that more effective 🔥
I love them. They fit our culture perfectly. 💪

We train, we don’t just exercise. There’s a comprehensive plan to maximize all components of athletic performance.
We coach, we don’t just supervise. This isn’t some large group controlled chaos. You’re coached every set and every rep. Not in a weird authoritarian or breathing down your neck way. But positive energy mixed with attention to detail and individualization.
Fundamentals, not fluff. Everything is designed based on science and decades of experience. We won’t sacrifice what’s best for the athlete to chase quick results. Build the foundation right and keep going from there..

If you don’t have time to warm up, you don’t have time to train.
All our athletes show up 15m early for an additional “pre warm up”, we call pillar prep.
The goal is to get your body in the best possible positions and quality movement patterns PRIOR to adding intensity.
You add intensity to movement and you reinforce that movement pattern.
Load up a bad squat, you store that movement in your long term memory and end up injured eventually. Add a progression to your jumps or medicine balls and you’re adding intensity and hitting save on the movement pattern.
Calm down the cranky muscles, wake up the lazy ones, get them all playing nicely before you start the actual warm up.
Train with a purpose.

🚨 like and share these amazing athletes showing up every day! Consistency is more important than anything else for health fitness or performance. Our goal is to make this journey a lot more simple and provide the accountability for the actual challenging part which is showing up!

Lindsay Stangeland Majors with 200+! Lindsay is a busy mom who was terrified of exercise. Specifically strength training and getting her heart rate up.
She had a heart complication during childbirth that actually almost killed her. And her core after so damaged she had some of the worst chronic back pain I’ve seen.
The first goal was just to feel safe! Not only for her to feel it, but her actual body to trust that it didn’t need to constantly send pain signals every time she moved.
Slowly but surely we added more weight. We tested the heart rate higher. And when I say slowly I mean a multiple year process. But she kept showing up and communicating..
All injuries can be like this but especially back pain… it’s often two steps forward and then a random out of no where step back. Even if you do all the things right! But she stayed patient. She kept coming. And soon realized those steps back didn’t last as long and many turned into a step laterally instead of backwards!
Now she not only does strength but cardio as well. And she’s also just a great human with awesome energy 🔥

Amber Schimmelpfennig Hart hitting over 600 despite some big professional and life changes! Kids graduating, sports, and a job shift had her once somewhat easy to stay consistent schedule a lot more difficult. But she kept coming!
She set non negotiables with how many times per week, with getting steps in outside the gym, even if that meant sprinting in to join a night class that already started just to get a few minutes in. .
Shifting the “all or nothing” mindset is one of the hardest mindsets to change. But this past years challenges have unlocked this new level! 🔥

Samantha Marotta is another one of our busy moms with an ever changing schedule (are you noticing a trend yet of who are amazing athletes are?!).
Sometimes she has to come early morning. Sometimes 5pm. Sometimes it means doing a workout at ho

Sorry most of you are like 50 workouts past this. But still deserve to be acknowledged!

Collins Gierich a student athlete who’s consistent year round and yes even inseason. Even if that means early mornings or am inconsistent schedule.
Her and her parents understand the importance in prioritizing development. So they find a way.
They also prioritize certain times per year where not only will they find a way but it’s an absolute non negotiable and the priority is training over other practices or skill work!
This makes inseason easy, as there’s no pressure to build. We definitely do, but we can also afford to take an easier week of game and practice schedules are heavier because we built the foundation the right way!
Also, she’s learned these mental and physical skills as a freshman 🔥

Adam is another multi sport athlete who finds a way to stay consistent despite a busy schedule. If there’s one word to describe him it’s integrity.
He values the process. He’s respectful and coachable. He takes his work in the gym seriously and does it at a high standard.
His effort is always 110%. But his attention to detail and being a technician with the intangibles unmatched. 🔥

Scott’s kids trained here before he did. After seeing the culture first hand decided he wanted to take his health and fitness to a new level.
As an incredibly busy man this meant putting aside his ego, stepping out of his comfort zone, and making some new promises to himself.
Which resulted in consistency, and results.
Now he’s sprinting, jumping, doing hang cleans, he’s stronger, has better overall fitness, and feels like the athlete he always has been.
One thing he’s learned is how important that consistency is not just physically, but even more important for him mentally. 🔥

Why am I feeling emotional swiping to this picture?! Probably because Hannah Nieukirk represents literally everything about “the brand”.
She bought in at a young age. Trusted the process. Got ou

You can continue to lecture your kids on how to be great. Or you can show them.
You can coach their 7U club team and do advanced scouting reports get them sponsored with brand name bat bags or you can go out back and play catch.
You could sign them up for the best skills coach and have them come train with us, or you could take 15m after work to go for a walk with them.
What do you choose?
My kids are young. One of my greatest fears are once youth sports culture starts competing with family time, our values, and our budget 😂.
I can’t imagine the pressure of wanting to give your kids the tools to be successful. To give them great opportunities. Seeing their potential and wanting to help maximize it….
But I can imagine how hard that line would be. What opportunities worth it? Is this exposure for future scouts or exposure to injury? Do they love it or do they love it because I do? Etc.
I’m not here for a 5 step plan on how to navigate this. But I can speak from what I’ve seen.
Kids training who clearly don’t love their sport. Burnt out and using the gym less about a chance to go D1 and more about an hour to get away from parents pressuring them to go get shots up. Parents pushing through giving their kid a long term injury in pursuit of a tiny plastic trophy.
But what makes BR special is we have 20+ parents who train here, and so does their kid. Not simply to be great at sports but because health and fitness are an important family value. Because working hard towards goals is the goal more so than the trophy. Because they don’t just talk about it, they lead by example.
The most successful kids are the ones who aren’t just good at their sport, but they are still doing it for the love of the game. Love of the process. Love of the intangible life skills the sport and weight room teach you.
Those things simply can’t be taught if they aren’t seeing it at home. We get your kids 1-3 hours per week. We work hard to create the culture environment and other humans around them to lead them to this place, but if they only see it here simple math tells you the outcome.
Wake up. Show up. Lead.
