THURSDAY NIGHT OPEN BUDDY EVENT - RESULTS

The third BDVB Thursday Night Buddy Event of 2026 returned last night to Stone Tavern Lake under hazy (due to smoke) and windless conditions. Similar to the first event here three weeks ago, the fishing was unusually difficult for many of the 17 teams. However, one team unlocked the key and smashed them!

The winning team of Andrew Annuzzi and Alex Johnson posted an impressive five-fish limits on the evening. That limit, weighing 14.29 pounds was enough to win the event by nearly 3 pounds. They also posted the big fish in the event, a 4.35 pound largemouth.

Second place went to the team of John Kinelski and Liam O'Gara. That team also had five fish, weighing 11.51 pounds. Third place went to the ever-consistent brother team of Ian and Matt Martin with fish fish limit weighing 9.41 pound range.

The overall results are attached.

Next week's event is on Lake Assunpink. Let's hope it's as good as the first event there!

THURSDAY NIGHT OPEN BUDDY EVENT - RESULTS

HOT! HOT! HOT! The second BDVB Thursday Night Buddy Event of 2026 was held last night at Lake Assunpink, where air temperatures exceeded 100 degrees and only "cooled" off to 90 degrees by the 10:00 p.m. end time.

None of that mattered as 16 teams showed up, and found the fishing as hot as the weather. On a night where the abundant 15-inch plus sized fish required for Assunpink were willing to cooperate, several teams had banner nights.

The winning team of brothers Ian and Matt Martin broke the BDVB Thursday night weight record, posting a five-fish limit weighing an astounding 19.80 pounds.

Another brother team, consisting of Jason McDonald and Josh McConnell also had a mega-five-fish limit, weighing 18.24 pounds taking second place by more three-quarters of a pound.

Third place went to Donny Diggs and Nick Angiulo with five fish, anchored by the big fish of the night, a 5.60 pound largemouth, weighing 17.54 pounds.

REMEMBER, NO EVENT NEXT WEEK. We are back at Stone Tavern Lake on July 16.

Snuck out last night after work and took little man. It was an amazing time seeing the joy on his face catching some fish. In total he caught about 15 crappie with a couple being decent sized. He’s made for fishing. He kept yelling PAPA GET THE NET! Excited for a fishing partner in the future.
