Great news! We've launched the new Artist Series Deb Scott mouthpiece, as part of an innovative collaboration with Greg Black Mouthpieces.

The mouthpiece was spearheaded by Texas-based Rath Artist Dr Deb Scott, and was launched at the 2026 International Trombone Festival in Riga, Latvia.

It is the first in the new Michael Rath Artist Series of mouthpieces, with more to follow.

After a few travel delays, we're finally set up at the International Trombone Festival in beautiful Riga, Latvia. Please stop by the booth to meet Greg and Ben while you try out some mouthpieces. We also have a great selection of trombones on display from our friends at Adams Brass. The exhibits are open through Saturday and we look forward to seeing you all there!

Please help us in welcoming Dr. Sharpe as the newest member of the Greg Black Mouthpieces family of Artists!

Dr. Christopher Sharpe is Assistant Professor of Trombone at Murray State University in Murray, KY. Christopher is a member of the Paducah Symphony Orchestra and the Colorado MahlerFest Orchestra, and he has performed with groups such as the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Opera Orchestra, Dallas Wind Symphony, and three years with the GRAMMY-nominated One O’Clock Lab Band. He can be heard on recordings with the Colorado MahlerFest Orchestra, the One O’Clock Lab Band, the Toshi Clinch Big Band, the Keith Karns Big Band, and Natalie Mannix.

Christopher is also a composer of trombone works under the pen name Chris M. Sharpe and founder of the publishing company C. Sharpe Editions, and his compositions have been performed around the world, including at events such as the International Trombone Festival, the International Womens Brass Conference, and the American Trombone Workshop. He is also the author of "Bass Trombone Double Valve Technique," a method book for bass trombonists looking to develop advanced technique with both valves, available through C. Sharpe Editions.

Christopher previously taught at the University of Central Arkansas and Hendrix University. He completed degrees at the University of Tennessee (BM 2012) and the University of North Texas (MM 2014, DMA 2019), and his primary teachers include Jeremy Wilson, Daniel Cloutier, Vern Kagarice, Jan Kagarice, Darren McHenry, and Tony Baker.

Please help us in welcoming Brent Harvey, as the newest member in the Greg Black Mouthpieces family of Artists. Raised in Apple Valley, Minnesota, Dr. Brent M. Harvey serves as Professor of Tuba-Euphonium and Music Theory at Winston-Salem State University, and Adjunct Professor of Tuba-Euphonium at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and Wake Forest University. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Minnesota, and Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the University of North Carolina Greensboro.

Brent has performed and recorded nationally and internationally as a soloist, as well as with the Minnesota Orchestra, Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the Americas, Catania International Festival Orchestra, National Wind Ensemble, Fountain City Brass Band, North Carolina Brass Band, Ardmore Brass Quintet, da Capo Brass Quintet, among others. He also regularly presents, adjudicates, and performs annually at Regional Tuba- Euphonium Conferences, U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” Tuba-Euphonium Workshops, and International Tuba-Euphonium Conferences in affiliation with the International Tuba-Euphonium Association (ITEA). His free time activities include traveling, sports, fantasy football, craft beer, Star Wars, and LEGO building!
