Sneakers4Good Donation box will be available on Wednesday September 2nd!

Sneakers4Good Program ♻️👟 DONATION BOX - AUGUST 12TH

If you’re interested in donating your lightly used running shoes or a pair you are not going to use, there will be a donation box available on the first Wednesday of the month at our weekly run.

Since we were catching lakeside views at Beachwood Park/The Deck last week, we plan to have the donation box available next Wednesday, August 12th at our weekly run.

The Sneakers4Good program ♻️👟 helps divert running shoes from landfills while supporting local causes and families globally.

Please be sure to check the requirements before donating ✅ Since these are being repurposed, shoes with holes anywhere on the shoe cannot be accepted. 🚫

🌟 September Runner Spotlight 🌟

Meet Barry! Barry started taking running seriously after a few adult refreshments with some friends one evening which led to him being talked into running the Seaway Run in 2025. What started as one race quickly turned into something much bigger. Since then, Barry has completed 18 races ranging from 5K to 10K, and what began as a bit of friendly persuasion has become a serious commitment to running. Now, he’s training for his first half marathon later this year, continuing to push himself, set new goals, and see just how far this journey can take him.

Barry met his wife, Amanda, while they were both at Best Buy in 2001. Three years later, in September 2004, they were married and began building the life they share today. Together, they have three kids, with their youngest entering their senior year this year, along with three dogs who keep life busy and entertaining.

Family is at the heart of what Barry enjoys most. He loves spending time with Amanda and their family, and when he’s not with them, you’ll often find him running or biking, camping with lifelong friends, or looking forward to their annual vacation to Panama City Beach, Florida.

🍀 URGENT: Irish Music Festival Bartending

When: Saturday, September 19th (7:30 PM – 10:00 PM)

Details: We need 5 MORE VOLUNTEERS by this Thursday to fill our 10-person shift! Come sling drinks, enjoy the music, and hang out with your run family.

Details: Help us support the MLNP team! We need volunteers to help pull invasive species (Purple Loosestrife) and possibly help put up fencing around the microforest.
