đź’› Once a Xavierite, ALWAYS a Xavierite! đź’›
Some of the most important members of our team never put on a uniform.
Last night, the Gold Rush welcomed a very special guest to the Convocation Center for Men’s Basketball Media Day — Mrs. Brendolyn McKenna, Xavier Class of 1967!
A devoted supporter of Xavier Athletics for years, Mrs. McKenna has been a constant presence in the stands, season after season, cheering on the Gold Rush and Gold Nuggets from her familiar seat right behind the team bench.
Head Coach Tyrone Mitchell shared this tribute:
“Every program needs people who believe in it through every season, every challenge and every triumph. Mrs. McKenna represents that kind of unwavering commitment. Year after year, she’s right there behind our bench, giving our young men her energy, her encouragement and her love. That kind of loyalty is the heartbeat of Xavier Basketball. We’re grateful for everything she has meant to this program, and we wanted her to know that she’s just as much a part of this team as anyone wearing a jersey.”
Several decades after graduating from Xavier, Mrs. McKenna continues to embody what it means to be FOREVER GOLD.
Thank you, “Ms. B,” for your enduring love, loyalty and dedication to Xavier Athletics. This seat of honor belongs to you! 💛
