It's been brought to my attention that Roy Bernades' memorial service is going to be a private ceremony for family only.
Sorry for any confusion.
Please know that we will be honoring Roy and his many contributions to Way2Go! Sports during our upcoming Fall Basketball season.

Hello Way2Go! Sports Family..

It's with a very heavy heart that I announce the passing of Roy Bernades.
Roy was a "charter member" of our referee crew back in 2013 and later became our "lead basketball official" for many seasons.
Roy passed away on Saturday, August 29th and our heartfelt condolences go out to Roy's dad, son Brennan and extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held this Friday at 9:00 am at the Valencia Hyatt.

What an amazing two days of fun, competition and getting better at the game of basketball! 🏀 Our first Way2Go! Sports Skills academy has come to a close.

A huge thank-you to Coach Coley Apsay for coming out and giving our players an unforgettable weekend. We were incredibly fortunate to have a coach and player of his caliber sharing his knowledge with our young athletes. I couldn’t have asked for a better camp instructor to bring such value, energy and top notch instruction to our kids! Coach Coley Apsay

Coach Apsay’s résumé speaks for itself: Santa Clarita Valley Player of the Year, Foothill League Player of the Year, two-time All-CIF Southern Section selection, L.A. Daily News All-Area selection, three-time Canyon High School team MVP and two-time team captain. He went on to become a College of the Canyons team MVP and an All-Western State Conference First Team selection before continuing his NCAA career at San Francisco State, where he earned First Team All-CCAA and CCAA All-Tournament Team honors. He was also recognized for his excellence in the classroom with NABC Honors Court, CCAA All-Academic and Academic All-Conference honors.

That is an incredible list of accomplishments—but what impressed us most was how Coach Apsay stepped up, showed up for our players when it mattered most and poured everything he had into making this weekend special.

Thank you to every player who came ready to work, compete and improve, and to all of our families for making the Way2Go! Sports Skills Academy with Coach Apsay such a success! We appreciate all of you and can’t thank you enough for putting your trust in us this weekend!

Winter Registration is officially OPEN! We'll have both basketball and flag football in the Winter for boys and girls ages 4-14.

Basketball will be played on Sundays at the Boys & Girls Club gym in Newhall, January 3rd through February 28th, and flag football on Saturdays, January 2nd through February 20th.

Early Bird pricing ($220 for ages 7-14) runs through Thursday, August 20th. On Friday, August 21st, the price goes up to $260, so if you're planning to join us this winter, please register ASAP at www.way2gosports.com.

Our Rookie Division (ages 4-6) is $170 through Wednesday, October 28th. Our fall season sold out, and I expect winter roster spots to fill up fast.

As always, every player receives a team jersey (game shorts now included for ages 7-14) and a personalized trophy. Our games are officiated by CIF-certified referees. Winter champions in our 7-14 divisions will take home championship rings AND hats.

Can't wait to see you on the field or court this Winter!
