And apparently, he’s already booked for his next big role! ⭐️
A little peek into how we do PRESCHOOL picture days at Scholar Snaps!
First rule? LET THEM BE LITTLE!!! ❤️
No forcing smiles, no perfect poses. Just letting them explore, giggle, make silly faces, pick flowers and show us exactly who they are!
Meet Benny! 💙 Those blue eyes, ALL those expressions and a personality made for the big screen! 😂 And obviously, his theme song is Benny and the Jets! 🎶
His little sister wasn’t quite ready for her Hollywood debut, but she sure does LOVE her Benny! ❤️
And Benny? Well, he loved picture day so much he came back for ROUND TWO… complete with a wardrobe change, just to take pictures with his little sis! 😂❤️
THIS is how we document the littles. The real smiles, the funny faces, the tiny moments and everything in between.
Because someday, these are the little things parents will want to remember most. ❤️

SOME SCHOOLS JUST HAVE THAT SOMETHING. ❤️📚🚌 And Jackson Day School is one of them!!!
The giggles. The friendships. The excitement. The beautiful chaos of kids just being KIDS!!! 😂❤️
Every single time we walk through the doors of Jackson Day School, ww see the same thing… HAPPY HUMANS!!! So full of life, personality, and excitement for their day! And pinch us because Lacy and I got to spend a day documenting ALL OF IT!!! 📸
And WOW, there is so much happening inside this school!!!
From culinary classes (YES, they were baking cookies, and NO, we didn’t get to try one… clearly we need to go back! 🍪😂) to teachers and staff who have been there for 20 YEARS!!! That says something. ❤️
And here’s something pretty amazing that you might not know! Through partnerships with Belmont Abbey College and Central Piedmont Community College, JDS offers dual enrollment opportunities, with many of their high school students graduating with BOTH a high school diploma AND an associate degree!!! 🎓👏
And YES, they even get the school bus experience traveling to and from classes!!! Ohhhh, the memories made on a school bus!!! 🚌😂
I say this often… not every school is for every child. And that’s okay! Finding the right place for your child is EVERYTHING. ❤️
One of the greatest gifts of what I do is getting to watch these humans grow up. Some of these faces I’ve been documenting since PRESCHOOL!!! And now they’re teenagers, making memories, finding their people, and figuring out who they want to become. 🥹
And to all the NEW faces this year… WHAT A TREAT to meet you!!!
These pictures aren’t picture day. They’re just a regular day in the life at JDS. The little in-between moments that tell the BIGGEST stories.
Because one day, these will be the GOOD OLD DAYS. ❤️

Meet Lainey. 2nd grade. Professional expression maker. And clearly, she understood the assignment!!! 😂👏

We give our students a little time to just BE THEMSELVES if they want!!! Because sometimes the best picture isn’t the one you planned… it’s the one that happens in between! 🥹

The yearbook photo is important… but THIS is the stuff we really want them to remember. ❤️📸
We are officially deep in our YEARBOOK ERA, and yes… if your bestie is nearby, we are absolutely pulling them in for a few. 😂
These two 11th graders made our job pretty easy. The laughing, the hugs, the little in-between moments 💛 THIS is school too. And this is why our yearbook days are about so much more than one photo and moving on to the next kid.
And since it’s HOCO DAY for so many of you… GO HAVE FUN!!! ✨ Get dressed up, take way too many pictures, laugh with your people, dance, be silly and make the memories you’ll still be talking about when you’re flipping through that yearbook years from now.
Go make the memories. We’ll keep documenting them. ❤️

YEARBOOK ERA: ACTIVATED. 📸✨
We’ve been living in our yearbook era ALL week… and we’ll pretty much be here until the end of November. 😂❤️
We’re always asked, “What does a ScholarSnaps yearbook picture actually look like?” Wellllll… here you go.
Meet gorgeous Zuri, 10th grade. 🍂📸
Our goal is pretty simple: let the student lead. Want a big smile? We’ve got you. Serious face for the yearbook? Absolutely. Want ONE great image and to get right back to class? Done. ❤️
We never want to force a student to smile, pose, or be anything other than who they are.
But here’s what we’re finding more and more… they actually want to stay for a bit. 🥹 They start talking, laughing, moving around, trying another expression ❤️ and suddenly picture day doesn’t really feel like picture day.
And THAT is exactly what we want. ❤️
A few minutes. Great light. Real expressions. Their choice. Their personality. Their yearbook.

Same initials. Same DNA. Same senior year. Completely different energy. 😂👍

Meet the M + M twins ❤️ Milan & his sister ❤️ and quite possibly one of my favorite examples of why senior pictures should never feel like... senior pictures.

We started with two completely different vibes. 💗
She brought the pink, the sweet, the color, the gorgeous hair and that smile that basically does all the work.

Milan brought the cool fit, the “I’m just gonna stand right here and look cool” energy...
..and apparently THUMBS UP. 👍

Because somewhere along the way I learned that if Milan is in a picture, there is a VERY good chance a 👍 is coming with him. 😂 And you know what? We document the human, so the thumbs stay.

Then we put these two together and THAT is when their actual story showed up.

Then SWITCH. 😂
Laughing.
Carrying each other ❤️ quite literally.

Which feels pretty appropriate for twins who have probably been carrying, annoying, supporting, competing with and laughing at each other their entire lives.

And can we talk about the M situation?! Both of their first names start with M. Their LAST name starts with M. They’re twins.

Basically, their parents committed to the theme and I respect it. 😂👏

These are the moments I love most about senior sessions. Of course we want the beautiful portrait Mom is going to frame. We want the cool shot they’ll actually post. We want each senior to have their OWN look and personality.

But then I want the stuff in between.

The ridiculous thumbs up.
The sibling picking you up.
The laughing-so-hard-we’re-done moment.
The photo that makes absolutely no sense to anyone else but will make your family laugh 20 years from now.

Because senior year isn’t only about documenting what you look like. It’s about remembering exactly who you were ❤️ and who was right there beside you. ❤️

M + M, you two were FUN.

🐾📚 HOLD THE PAW 🐾 YEARBOOKS ARE ON SALE?! 😎

Well, well, well… look who came out of summer retirement.

PHOEBE IS BACK. 😂🐾

Our fluffy Scholar Snaps mascot helped us talk yearbooks last year, and apparently she decided this was now an annual responsibility.

She reviewed one of last year’s book.
She checked the photos.
She put on her shades. 😎
She took the shades OFF.
She put her paw to her forehead because apparently some of y’all still need reminding. 😂

2026–2027 YEARBOOKS ARE NOW ON SALE! 📚

Be on the lookout for ordering information from your school because this is one book you definitely want on the shelf.

Because someday, it won’t just be a yearbook.

It’ll be “LOOK HOW LITTLE WE WERE!”
“Remember that teacher?!”
“That was your haircut?!” 😂
“That was my best friend.”
“That was our team.”
“That was OUR year.”

The big moments, the everyday moments, the friendships, the wins, the awkward stages 😂, and all those little pieces of growing up that you don’t realize you’ll miss until you do.

One whole school year of growing up, tucked between two covers. ❤️

And we feel pretty darn lucky that Scholar Snaps gets to help tell that story.

For the carousel: I would 100% make the first open-mouth/yawning-looking shot the cover image. It reads like Phoebe is literally yelling the announcement. Then end with the paw hitting the sunglasses—perfect punchline. 😂

SENIOR SUNDAY 🏈🌊 | From Weekend Night Lights to whatever comes after the final whistle…

Meet Aiden | Class of 2027. ❤️

And this Senior Sunday feels like the perfect one to share him because last night the Corvian Cardinals kicked off their season with a WIN 🙌 and this guy scored some pretty important points. 🔥🏈

Aiden is a wide receiver, he is FAST, he can fly down a football field… and apparently when he isn’t catching passes, he’s doing pull-ups on the goalpost crossbar. 😂 Because why wouldn’t you?

So of course we had to include his football portraits with his senior pictures because both are Aiden.

The red jersey. The locker room. The smoke. The intensity.

And then… the button-up shirt. 😂

If you know Aiden, you know athletic clothes are pretty much the uniform, so seeing him a little dressed up for senior pictures was kind of fun. Don’t worry, we kept the shorts and sneakers. We weren’t trying to change the kid completely. 😎

And that’s really what we want senior pictures to be.

Not turning a senior into someone they’re not.

Just documenting who they are right now.

For Aiden, football is a big part of that story ❤️ but it isn’t the whole story.

He has always loved the ocean, marine life and marine biology 🌊, and I love that the kid who can fly across a football field also has this completely different side and interest waiting beyond it.

Because seniors are more than their sport.

More than their jersey number.

More than one picture.

And this year is about documenting all of it.

Congrats on the first WIN of the season, Aiden + Cardinals! ❤️🏈

Now go score some more points… and maybe stay OFF the goalpost. 😂

SENIOR SUNDAY ☀️🎞️ | The kind of senior session that feels more like a film than a photoshoot.
Meet Chloe. 🤍
Bright sun. Orange wildflowers. A white skirt set catching the breeze. Running, twirling, taking it all in 🧡 and barely a “pose” in sight.
Because sometimes the best senior pictures happen when we stop trying to make a moment 🧡 and simply let it happen.
Chloe is a traveler, a storyteller, and a girl with dreams of doing something in the world of film 🧡 which feels pretty perfect, because her whole session looked like scenes pulled straight from one. 🎥✨
She has this beautiful curiosity about the world, an adventurous spirit, and goodness, she is STUNNING.
This is what we love about senior photography at ScholarSnaps: Not making every senior fit into the same picture. Just giving them the space to be exactly who they are.
And Chloe? She made the sunshine look like it belonged to her. ☀️🌼
