Quilts by Kristy provides professional longarm quilting with Gammill Statler Stitchers.

I began Quilts by Kristy in 2010 with the ultimate goal of being a stay-at-home parent while still providing an income for our family. What started as a small endeavor has grown into a wonderfully busy business though a lot of hard work and the recommendations of my loyal clients. Each day I am able to work on beautiful quilts and return them to clients who are always so happy to see the finished product; I couldn't ask for a better job! Quilts by Kristy provides longarm quilting services on two Gammill Statler Stitchers. This means that patterns are digital, and therefore the quality of my quilting is very consistent. As a science teacher by trade, I am very meticulous, and that is reflected in my work. Conversely, I rarely do freehand work because I dislike the unpredictability of the stitching. Both of my machines can fit quilts with a width of 120" or less (there is no limit to the length). At this point, I am no longer creating any T-shirt quilts or doing custom quilting; these types of services require too much time away from my family. Jeanette put an incredible amount of work into this beautiful scrappy quilt! Each of the intricate star blocks features a different combination of fabrics from her scrap stash, and I love how the black sashing and colorful patchwork bring everything together.

What makes this quilt especially meaningful is that some of the fabrics came from Jeanette’s own mother. She even recognizes prints from clothing she wore as a child! Now she plans to give the finished quilt to one of her daughters, passing those memories along to another generation. We quilted it in a traditional stipple, adding texture while letting all of that wonderful piecing and fabric history take center stage.

Sabrina found a bow block pattern she liked and used it as the starting point to design this sweet quilt! I love how she alternated the pink and blue bows and used a variety of small floral prints to give them a scrappy look. The generous white background really lets those pretty bows stand out.

We quilted it in Pretty Posies, filling the background with flowers and flowing curls. The floral quilting adds lots of lovely texture and gives the whole quilt that soft, frilly feel we were going for.

Carol made this adorable cow quilt, and I can’t help but smile at all those sweet little faces! The colorful cows with their pink noses and tiny horns are so much fun, and I love how they pop against the patterned gray background.

We quilted it in Rainbow Hearts, which adds rows of playful arches and little hearts throughout the quilt. It’s such a fun quilting design for this cheerful quilt.

Sometimes you don’t need to piece blocks together to give the gift of a quilt! Lori chose these two sweet fabrics to make quilts for her twin grandsons who will be arriving later this year. She used to hand quilt gifts like these for her family, but arthritis has made that difficult. I’m so glad she can still carry on the tradition of giving handmade quilts to the little ones in her family.

We chose Moon and Stars for the Mickey Mouse quilt, with its soft blue colors and bedtime theme. The adorable dog quilt is quilted in Ginger Paw, adding playful paw prints throughout. Now Lori has two cozy quilts ready to welcome her new grandsons!

Denise pieced this beautiful Pat Sloan sampler quilt, featuring a wonderful variety of traditional blocks. I love how each block brings something different to the overall design, and the mix of intricate paisleys, florals, and geometric prints gives you so many interesting details to look at!

We quilted it in Curlz, adding lots of soft, flowing swirls that contrast nicely with the angles and straight lines of the piecing. The quilting really stands out in the lighter fabrics and adds such lovely texture across the entire quilt!

Anita made this beautiful patriotic quilt featuring alternating star blocks and red, white, and blue stripes. I love the variety of blue and burgundy fabrics she used, especially the star prints tucked throughout the piecing. The crisp white background really makes the colors and designs stand out!

We quilted it in Simply Stars, which carries the patriotic theme right into the quilting. The scattered stars and gentle curves add lovely texture to the white background, and the design shows up especially well on the blue backing!

Tammy has been busy putting her scrap stash to good use! She made five big quilts, using a wonderful assortment of fabrics, colors, and prints. I love seeing how differently they all turned out: from simple patchwork and colorful squares to playful hourglass blocks. There are so many fun little fabrics tucked into these quilts, and the variety makes them especially interesting to look at!

All five are quilted in Tammy’s favorite design, a classic Stipple. The gentle, meandering quilting adds lots of texture while letting all of those fabrics and pieced designs take center stage. Sometimes you just can’t beat a classic!

Andrea calls this quilt Hugs & Kisses, and I love how the little pieced blocks create such an intricate design! The rich reds, delicate floral prints, and touches of cream give it a beautiful, traditional feel. There are a lot of tiny little pieces, and I especially love how the pattern comes together when you step back and see the whole quilt.

We quilted it in Ikat, adding flowing, geometric curves that complement the piecing and create wonderful texture throughout. The quilting shows up especially well on the pretty floral backing, too!

Cathy’s quilt is bursting with color and movement! I love how the scrappy fabrics come together to create all of those stars, with the darker outer blocks framing the design. There’s so much to look at, and the mix of prints makes it especially fun.

We quilted it extra dense in Ikat, creating a wonderful texture across the entire quilt. The repeating geometric curves add another layer of interest without competing with the patchwork.

Mary made this cheerful Dizzy Daisy quilt using a layer cake from a late friend’s fabric stash. The pattern, from Missouri Star Quilt Company, makes such fun use of the different prints, with daisy-inspired blocks set against a crisp white background. I especially like the little colorful squares scattered between the blocks!

We quilted it in Toss Up, adding lots of playful curves and swirls that complement the daisy shapes. The quilting really shows up in the white background and gives the whole quilt a lovely texture.
