The sky over Miami’s Haulover Park will be filled with hundreds of colorful kites including dozens of giant show kites during the 34th Annual Kite Festival!

It is the biggest kiting event in Florida. Expect to see GIANT whale’s, the 100-foot flying octopus and cuttlefish, the 30-foot flying Astronaut, the 300 sq foot parafoils, the 100-foot flying Stingray’s and more!

Hosted by Skyward Kites. 

People of all ages are welcome to participate, with no restrictions on kite size or type. Don’t have a kite—or prefer to purchase one at the event? A variety of kites will be available on-site, along with food and refreshments. Those who’d rather sit back and enjoy the view are encouraged to bring a blanket, relax, enjoy great music, and take in the spectacular sight of hundreds of kites filling the sky.

We encourage our guests to make their kites in their traditional styles from countries they may want to represent and fly them! In years past we have had a traditional kites flown from the Bahamas, China, Colombia, Jamaica, Trinidad, Peru, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and many more. It is a fantastic way to celebrate the unique diversity of cultures that South Florida has.
