Most JCPRD facilities will be closed Friday, July 3 & Saturday, July 4, unless otherwise noted.

- JCPRD parks and trails will be open during regular park hours.
- Tomahawk Hills and Heritage Park golf courses will be open during regular hours, weather permitting
- Visitor Services at Shawnee Mission Park will be closed Friday. Purchase permits online at https://jcprd.com/642/Fishing-Boating-Permits
- Shawnee Mission Park Marina will be open regular hours Friday, July 3 and the last rental will be at 2:30 pm on Saturday, July 4.
- Shawnee Mission Park Beach will be open Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4 from noon to 4 pm.
- Ernie Mill Nature Center is closed to drop-in visitors through mid-2026; park is open dawn to dusk.

No more driving through Heritage Park to access the golf course! You can now enjoy the new direct entrance to both Heritage Park and Heritage Park Golf Course.

We're excited to welcome everyone through the new entrance and want to extend a huge thank you to all the contractors and crews who worked so hard to make this project a reality.

🚧 One final improvement is still on the way - a gate is currently being installed at the golf course entrance and will be operational soon.

Retirement Announcement – Rob Wilkin, PGA Professional

After an incredible 29-year career with JCPRD, Rob Wilkin will be retiring on June 27, 2026.

Rob has dedicated his entire JCPRD career to Heritage Park Golf Course, where he has made a lasting impact on countless golfers, staff members, and the community through his professionalism, leadership, and passion for the game. A small list of his many accomplishments throughout his career is below, including the most recent Kansas Golf Hall of Fame - Class of 2025.

Effective Immediately:

For liability and safety reasons, privately owned golf carts are no longer permitted on the golf course.

Guests are welcome to rent a cart from our fleet or enjoy the course as a walking player.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all golfers.

Jr. Golf Camps Begin Next Week!

For your junior, a golf camp at Heritage Park is a great avenue to learn the game of golf, whether they are just starting golf or building on what they have learned. Our camps are about two things—golf and fun. PGA Professionals direct the instruction to provide a supportive and safe environment for your children to improve their golf game. Students will be instructed on putting, chipping, full swing, and we'll use our new "Wee Links" course as well. We teach golf etiquette, history, rules, and technique so your juniors have fun and get a strong foundation in golf for a lifetime of the game.

Our camps are a golf enrichment program designed for junior golfers ages 7-15. We welcome boys and girls of all athletic abilities, golf experience, and competitive desire. Each junior enrolled in our camps is warmly and sincerely welcomed and in great hands.
