The public is invited to an event this Saturday, May 9 which will not only dedicate JCPRD’s newest and 16th public art installation, but will also launch a new way to explore parks, trails, and outdoor spaces across Johnson County via the Passport to Public Art program.
Passport to Public Art is a self-guided adventure meant to turn park visit into art hunts. The program is free to participate in. Participants can mark off sites they visit on location and are encouraged to take a selfie and tag the location on social.
Physical copies of the passports can be picked up after May 9 at the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, 8788 Metcalf Ave.; the Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse, 9101 Nall Ave., Prairie Village; and at the JCPRD Administration Building in Shawnee Mission Park, 7900 Renner Road, Shawnee and Lenexa. Passports will be available digitally at https://jcprd.com/2362/Passport-to-Public-Art
