Iowa Demons 50's

May 3, 1930 the first professional baseball night game played under a permanent lighting system.The local Des Moines Demons defeated the Wichita Aviators with a score of 13-6. Nearly 12,000 fans attended, far exceeding the average day game attendance of 600. The successful game popularized night baseball in the minor leagues, providing a significant boost to attendance during the Great Depression.
