As summer starts winding down, we just want to take a moment to recognize how grateful we are for everything Coach Abby has poured into our KAPD girls. Her time, talent, patience, expertise, and love have made a lasting impact on our athletes.
Every Monday and Tuesday, she shows up ready to teach, encourage, challenge, and inspire. The growth we’ve seen in our girls this summer; in their skills, confidence, and teamwork; has been incredible, and Coach Abby has been a huge part of that journey.
We’re not saying goodbye yet! We still have time left together, but we never want to wait until someone is gone to tell them how much they mean to us.
Thank you, Coach Abby, for investing in our girls, believing in them, and helping them become stronger athletes and even better people. This summer would not have been the same without you, and we are so thankful for every moment.

Last night was our 6-week skills test, and I couldn’t be more proud of these young ladies. 🖤🤍📣
Yes, their splits are deeper. Their bridge downs are stronger. Their handstands, cartwheels, forward rolls, and backward rolls are improving every week. But the growth that means the most to me can’t be measured on a skills sheet.
It’s the confidence.
It’s watching girls who once doubted themselves step up and try. It’s seeing them trust their training, push through fear, and realize they’re capable of more than they thought. That kind of growth will take them much further than any tumbling skill ever could.
Keep working. Keep believing. Keep growing. Your coaches are incredibly proud of you. The best is still ahead. ✨
Six weeks ago, some of these girls were nervous to try new things. Last night, they showed us just how much they’ve grown. 🖤🤍

Watching these young athletes believe in themselves, try hard things, and celebrate their progress has been incredible. Growth isn’t just about what they can do; it’s about who they’re becoming.

Our final K.A.P.D. Summer Training Session begins tomorrow and runs through August 27th. Whether your athlete is brand new to cheer or looking to sharpen their skills before the season ends, this is the perfect opportunity to get in the gym and grow.

As I look at these beautiful young ladies of KAPD Cheer, I’m reminded that freedom is more than a date on a calendar; it’s a promise, a journey, and a gift from God.
For many Black families, Independence Day carries mixed emotions. We celebrate the blessings of this nation while remembering that when freedom was declared in 1776 slavery wasn’t abolished for even another 100 years, many people who looked like us were still not free. Yet through faith, perseverance, and God’s grace, generations before us kept pushing forward so our daughters could dream bigger, stand taller, and walk confidently in opportunities they never had.
Today, I don’t just see cheerleaders. I see future leaders, business owners, educators, coaches, mothers, and changemakers. I see answered prayers.
As we celebrate this week, may we remember that our ultimate freedom is found in Christ, and may we continue to raise young girls who know their worth, know their history, and know that with God all things are possible.
Head up. Shoulders back. Big smiles.

Looking at these beautiful young ladies, I see more than cheerleaders. I see future leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, mothers, coaches, and changemakers. I see strength. I see excellence. I see the legacy of those who refused to give up so that these girls could have opportunities to thrive.
At K.A.P.D., we believe representation matters. We believe our girls deserve to see themselves as capable, worthy, and powerful. We celebrate the beauty of Black culture, Black joy, and Black excellence; not just today, but every day.
