💗 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this month is especially meaningful to me.
14 years ago this month I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
At just 31 years old, with a 2-year-old son at home, I was facing something I never could have imagined.
My journey included a double mastectomy, moments of fear and uncertainty, strength I didn't know I had, and a deep appreciation for every year I've been given since.
The photo I'm sharing was taken shortly after my surgery. Even in the middle of one of life's most difficult chapters, there were still reasons to smile. 💗
If you are currently fighting, in remission, newly diagnosed, supporting someone you love, or remembering someone you've lost — my heart is with you.
This month, I'm grateful for the people who stood by me, especially my husband, the strength God gave me, and the chance to keep building a life after cancer.
