Tommorrow morning between 8am-9am I will be going live on location at Jess ranch lakes in Apple Valley. I'll be talking to the owner and walking around to see what's in store for the upcoming trout opener next Friday October 2nd. Will be checking out the massive fish they will be putting into the lake for you all to catch. If you have never been it's such a fun family oriented place to fish and hang out on the weekends. They have Giant blue trout, their version of golden trout and definitely giant rainbow trout. You definitely don't want to miss it on the public page of macks fish reports.

Also I will be interviewing Cali Binks who is running for County Superintendent of schools for San Bernardino County. Will be talking about some of her outdoor experiences, some upcoming programs that maybe we can implement in schools like a school fishing program or something along those lines. Get more kids and families of all ages outside enjoying the outdoors and experience some places to explore like Jess ranch lakes and other places to fish and visit in the county of San Bernardino like the county parks such as, Cucamonga Guasti, Yucaipa regional ect. Like the Goal that carries over from the saying from AC. Give a kid a tackle box not an XBox. Maybe we can even cover some future county programs to have school field trip to these spots as well. Who knows but this is just a start in the right direction so we gotta vote her into office first in November!!!

The bar has been raised a little bit higher!!!

Markus Medak who owns the New Lo-An sportfishing has just weighed in a 446 pound bluefin tuna! This beast came in with that massive weight gilled and gutted. So it could of lost 30 pounds easy if not a few more when it was freshly boated.
At this rate will there be a Pacific blue fin tuna that hits the 500 # mark soon here in California? With a current world record at just over 900 pounds it certainly can happen. The ocean is red hot!

What an absolute tank!!!

The Game Changer Sportfishing from San Diego caught a blue fin tuna so large one hasn't been seen this big in many many years. This fish taped out at 441 pounds. But after a day on ice, it officially weighed in at 420 pounds on a scale on land! It beats out the official state record but many things come in to play for it to actually become a new record so will see if it does qualify but still what a phenomenal catch for these guys!

They also got many other fish including a marlin to go with it. Check them out down in SD!

What a day at Castaic Lake. The Sage Family headed out today on their boat looking for a variety of fish and managed over 20 small mouth bass. Multiple large mouth bass and they found a couple of nice trout to add to the count as well!

Tommorrow is the 2nd and final free fishing day in California. What that means is If you know someone that wants to try fishing and doesn't have a fishing license Tommorrow is the day to do so. All limits and regulations still apply just don't need a fishing license to do so. Good luck and have a great day. Of course reference the ca regs for any other questions.

Another epic Trip to southern Utah. Went to fish lake and otter creek for a few hours on the way home. The fish were biting everywhere. The weather was a different story. We fished in lots of wind up to 35+ mph, rain , hail, lightning, and then managed to get a few photos when weather has a small window before the next section of storms came through. For Fish lake we caught splake, browns, cutthroats, rainbows and perch. Most of these fish we found in 25-60 foot of water. For otter creek all the fish were in 7-10 feet of water. We had many big rainbow trout and a wiper. Most fish were released but we kept some for dinner. When the weather was nasty brite colors , red, yellows, and white plastics was getting bit over anything else. Then dipping whatever into bite on crimson trout attractant definitely helped and 2 # test line always gets more bites.
What our gear and tackle we mostly used.
Hookup Baits baits 1/16 yellow/white
Bite On Fishing on red crimson
Fishing Syndicate rods, 1-4 green monster, 1-4 black series ul, 2-6, and 8-14 bass rods

Remember Saturday July 4th and Saturday September 5th are free fishing days. Means no fishing license is required to fish in this state but limits, size, and take restrictions apply. So if you know anyone that wants to get into fishing but has never done it this weekend is a perfect day to give it a try for the 250th day of America!
