Draw fast. Reholster slow.

The draw gets all the practice, but the reholster is where a lot of carry accidents happen. Clear your cover garment, look the gun into the holster, and keep your finger high on the frame until it's fully seated. There's no prize for speed on the way back in.

Feeling confused about transporting your gun in Illinois? You're not alone!

Navigating fi***rm transport laws in Illinois can be tricky for residents and non-residents. Knowing the difference between "carrying" and "transporting" is crucial.

For Illinois Residents: Always have your FOID or CCL. Transport requires the fi***rm to be broken down, not accessible, or unloaded and cased. Cases don't usually need to be locked for general transport. Carrying requires a CCL.

For Non-Residents: No FOID needed for transport. Similar rules apply: broken down, not accessible, or unloaded and cased. Cases generally don't need to be locked. Carrying concealed in a vehicle is allowed if you're eligible in your home state, but if you leave the car, the fi***rm must be locked.
