I'm sorry to hear about the situation at MBD Martial Arts with Michelle and Ben. I've known them for over 18 years since moving to Des Plaines. My son attended their classes on oakton. We got our Krav Maga certifications together about 15 years ago. I'm sad to see the gym closed. They are amazing people and I'm sure whatever it is, they will get through it. We will all be here to support them.

I agree that everyone should wait to see and give it some time before moving on. I also do understand that people need a place to train in the meantime.
I had a BJJ gym in Des plaines for almost 8 years before moving to uptown Park Ridge.

Any of the MBD Students are more than welcome to come train with us at no cost to you at all, for the rest of the year! Hopefully by then MBD will be back, bigger and stronger!

What a weekend! As I'm trying to go through all the pictures and videos to post, this one here this Team pic says it all! I can't be more proud of this team than today. Each and every one of these kids went out there and left it all on the mats. They all competed with honor and integrity.

Thankfully, with dedication and hard work we were fortunate to place in the top 4 as Best Team Overall!

But, to me it's not about trophies and medals we've earned, it's about the unity of this team.
Watching these kids compete and grow, building mental toughness, resilience, perseverance and that never give up attitude.

We are building honor, respect, loyalty and character on and of the mats!

Thank you to the parents for trusting us and the process. Thank you to the students back at the gym who continuously are helping get our comp team ready.

Thank you to the professors Tony, Diogo and Rob, coaches Fatimeh and Mark as well as Niko Link and all the others for getting these kids ready, and Coaching the day of the event!

Now its back to training on Monday!

Whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced student, a hobbyist or competitor, we have the class for you.. We offer classes in Brazilian jiu jitsu every day... We have NO-GI classes as well as our MMA program..

You have some time around lunch. Come check us out Tuesdays and Thursdays 12 PM, Brazilian jiu jitsu class and soon to be added Monday, Wednesday 45 min Lunchbox class, where at punch, kick and sweat it out!!

What am incredible weekend for our kids!!

We competed in what turned out to be the largest kids , brazilian juijitsu event in the midwest to date.
With approximately150 teams and close to 500 kids competing!

That being said Premier Jiu-Jitsu Academy placed 3rd Overall as Best Academy!

At our first team competition of the year, we took thirty kids to compete and are bringing home 24 medals! We were top 5 in most metals awarded, top 3 for most Gold Medals won... securing us the 3rd Best Gym.

The exciting part for us is that of the 30 competitors we took 25 was their first time competing and 23 of them were white belts , with six months training or less, a few less than a month!

Thank you to all the professors and Coaches, Tony, Diogo Rodrigo de Oliveira , Rob Cal , Fatimah Sayyad, Jim Peterson, , Mark Herskovitz , TJ for getting these kids ready to go out there to battle. Also want to thank Gabi Passini and Danielle for all your help keeping up with the schedule and where the kids needed to be at all times. Amazing teamwork!

Thank you to all parents for having faith and trust in us, for believing in us but more importantly, believing in your kids. Thank you for finding the time to consistently bring your kids to class.It's a team effort.

Lastly, I want to thank all the kids at the academy for getting your teammates ready. And, most important the students that competed. You went out there fought your hearts out. Never gave up fought till the end and with all your hard work, commitment and dedication as a Team we managed to accomplish something so great! Keep grinding, keep showing up and let's do this again!

We can't tell you how proud we are of all 30 of you!

Today we had an amazing time hosting the AI Team from Crowe, for a fundraising Self Defense seminar!

We we're excited to help raise money for one of our favorite organizations around, located here in Park Ridge!

Avenues To Independence!!

We were able to raise close to $2000 with Crowe matching 100 percent!

Thank you Crowe and especially Joe Gill and all the people that attended, for helping put this event together, and for all the donations! Your team was energentic and an absolute blast to work with.

If interested, we are still excepting donations until next Friday and of course you can always donate to them directly anytime. Also, please visit their antique/ Thrift shoppe on Touhy avenue in Park Ridge.... some great hings in there
