My guy Merrick is 13, tall, lanky, and still growing — and that comes with a unique challenge for young pitchers.

The taller the athlete, the more difficult it can be at a young age to control long levers, maintain balance, and consistently repeat movements. That’s why development isn’t about forcing a pitcher into one delivery.

We adjust. We teach. We develop.

Merrick has A LOT more growing to do, so we’ll continue adjusting his training and mechanics as his body changes. The goal is to build control, consistency, and confidence through every stage of his development. 💪🏾

In travel baseball, one of the biggest obstacles to a player’s long-term success isn’t always talent—it’s division.

Too often, adults fall into a mindset of trying to conquer and divide instead of coming together around one shared goal: helping kids grow. When disagreements become personal, players are often the ones caught in the middle. They begin to hear different messages, lose trust, and can struggle with confidence, accountability, and teamwork.

Baseball is a team sport, but the lessons go far beyond the field. The ability to work with others, respect leadership, handle adversity, and stay committed to a common goal are life skills that will follow these young athletes into high school, college, careers, and their families one day.

Parents and coaches don’t have to agree on everything, but when we choose unity over division, we create an environment where kids can develop not only as athletes, but as better people.

Let’s spend less time choosing sides and more time building futures. The kids are watching.

It’s Only the Beginning.

Proud of my guy Grayson Bean as he took his first college visit today to Holmes Community College. The recruiting journey has officially started.

And the numbers are speaking loud.

⚾ #7 in the state in strikeouts
⚾ 44 Ks in just 21 innings
⚾ Only 9 walks
⚾ Topping out at 88 mph

The work we’ve been putting in is showing up when the lights come on. This is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.

But the most exciting part?

We’re just getting started. He’s just a junior in high school.

The standard is high. The ceiling is higher.
