Hear it from the Champion herself 🎥 Skylar Self's win in the #1 Smarty Rodeo Shootout at Mama Of 'Em All in Cheyenne, WY was her FIRST EVER breakaway roping win, turning in a 17.78 on 3 to bring home $120 and her first Champion title. 💁🏼‍♀️

For those who don't know, our #1 division is built exactly for moments like this. It's for ropers who are brand new to the sport and haven't won 3 checks yet, roping on a sled to build confidence before moving up through the classification system. That's the whole point of how we do this, every level has a real shot at a Champion title, no matter where you're starting from.

We caught up with #3 Priefert HC Day Two Champion Jean Poythress at the TX Summer Shootout to hear her story. She backed into the box on Day 1 and won the #3 Priefert HC. Then came back Day 2 and doubled down, winning the #5 CINCH JEANS Slide AND the #3 Priefert HC again.
