I saw this post this morning and thought it worth sharing. A very good perspective.

food for thought for all of your parents worried about the scorecard, and every stroke for 10, and a 11-year-old kids.

My daughter just graduated from high school, she's a state champion, one of the most decorated golfers in high school golf in her state, and carried a JGS and ajga résumé good enough that she's headed to a power five school to play on scholarship next year.

I lost so much sleep over every stroke, in every tournament, in every practice session and was so worried about the improvement, that at times I lost site of just enjoying the journey.

Your kids are going to end up where they end up because of their talent more than anything, and some of them because their work ethic is just so strong that it works all the other kids that are working their asses off.

Please don't lose sight of the big picture, though, enjoy every second on the practice range, every practice round, watch them compete in every event, because regardless of if they play in college or not, you're not going to get that time back with them.

We have three events left in her junior golf career, and I'm just sitting here wondering where the time went.

Hug them harder after tough rounds, be more understanding when their practice sessions aren't what you think they should be, and be proud of them, even when they aren't proud of their performances.

at the end of the day- you will never get that time with them back.

I’ve worked with this little lad off and on for a couple years. Wonderful family. He has sooo much personality, lots of talent and loves golf with dad and grandpa. Can’t wait to give him just a tweak as we continue his journey. He’s going places.
