We are are one of the 40 regions recognized by USA Volleyball, essentially functioning as the Wisconsin chapter. 🏐 98,395 BOYS. ONE SPORT THAT’S GROWING FAST.
Volleyball is growing — across the country and right here in Wisconsin. 📈
According to participation data provided by the NFHS and First Point Volleyball, boys high school volleyball is the fastest-growing boys high school sport over the past 10 years, with a 77.55% increase in participation.
And the momentum doesn’t stop there. 👀
🏐 502,056 girls playing volleyball nationally
📈 9,257 new girls volleyball participants
🏆 Volleyball is now the #2 most popular girls high school sport
🇺🇸 And here in Wisconsin…
🔴 Girls — 486 schools | 15,588 participants
🔵 Boys — 69 schools | 2,107 participants
These aren’t just numbers. They represent thousands of athletes finding their sport, schools creating new opportunities, and communities growing the game.
And we want to keep it going. 💪

We caught up with the champs right after their win to hear about the experience, the competition, and what it means to come out on top.

Volleyball is growing — and it’s incredible to see the connections being made across the sports world. 🏐📈
ESPN’s latest feature highlights the daughters of legends like Patrick Ewing, Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo, and Marcus Spears who have found their own paths to excellence through volleyball.
And one of the coolest parts? These athletes aren’t simply following in their parents’ footsteps. They’re creating their own.
The article points to something we’re seeing more and more: athletes and families from other sports discovering what makes volleyball so special — the athleticism, strategy, teamwork, competition, and community. And those connections are helping bring even more eyes to our game.
The numbers back it up, too. The 2025 NCAA Volleyball Tournament was the most-watched NCAA volleyball tournament ever, while high school girls volleyball continues to outpace basketball participation by an increasingly wide margin. (ESPN)
From the youth level to the college game and beyond, volleyball is having a moment — and it feels like we’re just getting started.

A HUGE congratulations to the 327 Badger Region athletes named to the 2026 AVCA Phenom Watch List! 👏🔥
Out of 4,845 athletes from across the country, 327 of them call the Badger Region home — an incredible representation of the talent being developed throughout Wisconsin. 🏐
The AVCA Phenom Watch List recognizes elite rising high school volleyball athletes in the 2028, 2029 and 2030 graduating classes who have earned significant recognition for their outstanding play. Athletes on the list have been recognized through achievements such as All-Region, All-State, USA Volleyball programs, Prep Volleyball/PrepDig recognition and more.
For our Badger Region athletes, this is a tremendous accomplishment and another reminder of the depth of talent across our clubs, high schools and communities. 💪
And there’s more ahead! Uncommitted athletes on the Phenom Watch List are invited to participate in the AVCA Phenom College Preparatory Program, an invitation-only event that brings together elite athletes and hundreds of college coaches.

All Wisconsin boys high school volleyball teams have the opportunity to vote in the weekly Top 10 Poll.
Coaches can submit their rankings to Madison Memorial Head Coach Eric Peterson via the weekly Google Form by 4 p.m. every Monday. The poll is then released the following Tuesday.
