The road less traveled usually doesn’t come with a door. Sometimes, you have to make one.

This is a huge win for the Second Amendment community—but the fight is not over, and clarity will not come overnight.

August 12 marks the expiration of the district court’s seven-day stay. It is not necessarily the DOJ’s final deadline to file an appeal. Even if the government does not obtain an additional stay, that does not mean every NFA requirement immediately disappears nationwide.

The injunction has limited coverage, and important questions remain about who qualifies, how the ruling will be implemented, and what procedures dealers and consumers should follow. We still need clear, authoritative guidance from the courts, ATF, and industry providers before assuming the transfer, registration, or approval process has changed.

Celebrate the win—but continue following the current process until verified guidance says otherwise.
