Joe Conahan '74 and Tom Ballard '86 will receive Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Markward Basketball Club. They will receive the awards at a luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 4th, at the Emrald Room, 14002 McNulty Road, Phila., Pa. 19154. Doors open 11:15, lunch at noon with program to follow. We expect to conclude at 1:45pm. Guests $45.00 for lunch and program.
Joe and Tom are among 10 honorees to be honored. The others are the '76 Bishop Kenrick Catholic League Championship Team, Paul Fox, Cathy Maloney-Carchidi, Tom Kehoe, Brandon Savage, Mike Stock, Jonathan White, and Jim Lynam.
Jim Lynam will receive the prestigious Markward Basketball Club Legacy of Excellence Award. When I became president of the Markward Basketball Club, I was given 10 bags of pictures, articles, etc. and
became excited to revive this award given to the icons of Philadelphia hoops. Jim Lynam rightfully belongs in the company of all the greats that have graced the courts of Philly Basketball. However, JL would say his biggest reason for attending the luncheon is to support his brother Mike. Mike Lynam is the head coach of the '76 Kenrick team also being honored that day. Never Let Go!
