Congrats to Heather Christman, the recipient of this year's Jackie Pierce Distinguished Service Award!

Heather wears many hats for Batavia, including as Secretary on the Board of Directors, Field Director, and a #1 fan at any Batavia game she attends. We are very thankful for all of her hard work and dedication to create the best experience for our players, coaches, and families!

This award is in honor and memory of Jackie Pierce, one of the founding volunteers and members of FC Batavia. Jackie also wore many hats and did many things to help our club grow in the beginning, and sadly Jackie passed away from COVID during the pandemic. To keep Jackie's spirit of volunteering alive, this award is given annually to a volunteer who demonstrates their selfless work and dedication to our club.

Congratulations again Heather, and THANK YOU!

Any young Batavia siblings looking to get a head start on soccer? Or friends who aren't yet ready to jump into club soccer, but still want some great coaching and skill development? Our partner club North Valley Soccer is once again running their KinderKicks program this fall! Boys and girls, ages 3-7 will enjoy a 12-week program introducing the game of soccer in a fun way. The first half of each session is dedicated to teaching basic soccer skills (dribbling, turning, passing, and shooting) and the second half of the session is small-sided games that maximize each child's touches on the ball in a game situation. Training is conducted by experienced coaches at one of the top soccer fields in AZ!

Juggling isn't just for clowns! Coach Braxton's latest tip is a great way to improve touch and confidence with the ball. Find a spot in your home with enough space (PLEASE: we don't want to get blamed for breaking mom's picture frames), start small and work your way up! Can you juggle feet to thigh to head and back down? Tag us in your juggling videos to show us your skills!

In addition to working with the ball, Coach Braxton shares another way to work on your game this summer. Check out the app .com to see a daily list of all the games going on around the world and how to watch them.

Coach Bob shares an example of how to stay in shape with a sample soccer workout. We love how he incorporates fitness as well as ball work into the workout. And this workout is less than an hour, but with the right concentration and effort, can really set you up for success when preseason starts.

Coach Michael is back with another great suggestion for how to keep up with your touches over the summer. Be sure to find some shade and fit in your workout in the morning or evening when the temperatures are lower.

Sometimes getting motivated to train during the off season can be hard. It's much easier to go to practice and train with a coach and teammates. Coach Ian shares his insight into what to do when motivation might be a factor.
